Again! What's wrong with Sherpas? How could they put Nepal's reputation down? Jasko thal ma khayo usaiko thal ma thukne. Send all Sherpas back to Tibet, I don't want them in Nepal

lol its group of people who are also sherpa, why mix their caste and nationality on the incident. The issue here should be the work ethics and their work enviorment. Aajkal nepal ma j kura ma pani jaat ra nationality ko kura ghusauchhan. Thats a shame!

@yuvraj Of course not. When you read immature comments, just assume they didn't read the article. What they did wasn't right, but the group, which had been treated poorly in the past had enough in this particular expedition when they allegedly were hurt by an act of one of the climber(kicking ices over them) and when one of the climber used profanity on them condescendingly. If ou don't read you shouldn't comment.

Okay, I didn't read the article first time. Now I have read it and still think that working environment is the issue here. Climbers are not told the cultural aspect of nepal first and working environment is not as good either. It should not have happened, I get it and lots of people get offended and have sympathy for sherpa and nepalis. Shouldn't we be talking about how this kind of incident will not happen in future? If yes then take the business aspect of the incident and improve it over there. If sherpas fought coz they thought they aren't getting enough respect, it won't get any better after this either.

Without climbers Sherpas r like America in Recession feel me. The climbers are guest. When u invite a guest in your house, you were supposed to treat them like a god. For instances if I invite my frens in party, i won't fight with them no matter they get drunk n billigerent. Ali kata aafno chabi ko khyal rakhnu parcha. Now Westerners r scared to sign up for climbing. Mt Everest's reputation is down the hill just like a Nepali girl who breaks their virginity he he.

Lau Sherpa haruma pani MAOISM le jado gadecha. Badhai cha Sherpas of Nepal. Great work. Now the climbers around the world slowly stop the mission, or they will arrange the third party for their security/assistance. So Sherpas go home, bake Potato and tend Yaks and Chauris.

I agree that resorting to violence is not acceptable. however; sherpas should not be blamed in this case. reading the whole story it seems like the "we know it all" so called pro climbers did not abide by the rules that were set. I don't blame the sherpas in this situation for reacting the way they did. Things can get from bad to worse in matter of seconds while climbing a mountain and these climbers should have listened to the sherpas rather than trying to be heros. Also the reports indicate bad mouthing the sherpas by these climbers which is unacceptable.

Both the sides are at fault regarding the initial argument and actions. It seems like the foriegn climbers did not know about the rope fixing going on. There needs to be central source of information provided to climbers before they start climbing. After you reach a certain point, it is not an agreeable situation for sherpas to tell you you can't be there.
But the mob mentality of Nepalis is seriously at fault again for ganging up on three foreigners who actually paid the exorbitant amount to be a guest in our country. The Sherpas need to understand that mount everest does not belong to them. If there was a misunderstanding then they have to learn how to deal with it instead of fighting with the customer. Not only did they fight, they created a life threatening atmosphere for these climbers by pelting stones and ganging up on them.
These climbers are due an apology from the Nepal government for not having a good information system nor a good process.
