We have all seen frauds and cheats declaring themselves as con "artists".
We are aware of prostitutes and whores calling themselves "Escorts".
And now we have a bunch of lowlife deshdrohee losers starting to call themselves " Global Citizens". Yea, right.
Never seen world's rich and the famous calling themselves "Global Citizen". In fact, almost all of them are very proud of their nationality. Millions of people spend the majority of their lives outside their own country but they are always loyal to their nation.
But now we are witnessing a new breed of degenerates, who managed to sneak into the US through some embarassing and immoral means, declaring themselves as "Citizen of the World", as if the new tag will somehow absolve them from their treachery.
Stupid PAKHE

That doesn't make it right.

I agree with this thread. To those who think they don't belong to one particular country but the whole world and this whole world is their home, my answer is it doesn't matter what you think. What matters is what the other countries where you want to live think. YOU ARE NOT AND CAN NEVER BE A GLOBAL CITIZEN as long as you need to have visa and have to maintain your legal status in that country. However, you guys are free to live in delusion and think that you are global citizens. But that will still be big LOL, HAHAHA

Luckily was born in Nepal but does not mean I owe anything to that land. We all are born free of nationality and religion. Society's/ so called leaders egos are fed in these two topics and people are ready to kill themselves, lol. Common people, see the bigger picture. We are lucky to be born and now dying for some piece of land, never. We all should think as one planet, not one ruler, one order or anything like that, just as a part of whole animal kingdom trying to survive and reproduce.
On another note, Observing and drawing conclusion is far better than blindly beleiving. Kaag le kan lagyo vanera dagurne ki kaan chamne. We all should be smart enough to figure this out.

Right.
I think a swinger would say the same thing after he proposes that you swap your wife or or your mother for a little fun.
I am sure your BP will shoot 8848meters high hearing this from the person.
However, the swinger would just not understand why you are over-reacting to his harmless proposal.
Really !!!

As you brought this issue: Can you pin point : reasons to disagree, disadvanteges of Global Citizens?
Adding Stupid and Pakhe all the time: makes you what ? A great philosopher of maoist?

Ha ha. You are comparing apples and oranges. Well, the point of whole argument is concluding what is right / wrong. Now, you talked about swingers, there are naked communities, there are all kinds lets not get into that. IF your sister/ mother walking down the street and if you yourself made deriogary comments then also, my BP shoots 8848 meters, ashishme for not respecting ladies in humanly manner.
The point here is glorification in belonging to certain class, community, religion or land. luckily, We were born in Nepal ( In the sense, I was the one lucky to ignite life not saying Nepal is lucky country). To any given animal/Human, earth should be motherland. The divisions are human teritorial divisons. Political agendas are all about territories. Not saying, strong one can occupy all the lands but just be organised more liberally. Like states in united states or countries in europe or even Nepal/ India. If we can travel a globe, in a day, then we should be global citizens as per developments and sciences. Earth seems small in 21st century. Its not like columbus trying to discover new parts of world any more.
From, me, my house, my family, my city, my country to Shifting as my globe/planet, As of now, only planet notouring life in whole universe. Otherwise, So called intelligent human leaders will kill themselves and the planet whole too. Guess who will be carrying gun without knowing who is killing whom and for what reason ?

I have agreed with your past posts, but I readily disagree with this one. The comparison of escorts and global citizens is pretty poor, but what is more interesting is why are you even coming up with this thought? or more so why certain society/people have chest-thumping patriotism? burn the place or get killed on what Hritik has to say? And you are not the only one to have this sense of wonder. Countries have waged wars on this very idea of 'induced nationalism' or namely ego. Nevertheless, it deserves an analysis. And here is my personal opinion:
The boundry ego ( due to identity, race, region, wealth etc): What was normal upto this age due to the limited understanding of the world beyond peoples immediate surroundings, now all sorts of borders are being blurred....especially due to the cultural fluidity. Everything is influenced by each other. What is an American food, what is a Nepali dress, what is a real American product, what is an Indian literature?
That is the big picture.
Now, have you ever wondered that these kinds of ultra-nationality is more prevalent in either third world countries or countries like the US with no real cultural history? The societies with financial well-being and rich history (most of the European countries) don't really give a shit about it. That doesn't make people there '-- country haters'. One German with NOOOOO problem hops in a train enjoys the weekend in Paris, takes part in carnival in Spain, goes back home in Hanover, and watches soccer in Rome the following weekend doesn't sit and think about how proud German he is and how other Europeans are pieces of shit. They have gotten over that a long time ago. There is no need to...people are finding newer ways to be proud of themselves and mainly be happier.
So IMO, what you are talking about, like many others, is an inferiority complex. It may be hard to accept, but that's what it is. A perceived need to collect all the reasonings to feel proud of something. Let it go, brother.

It has been the signature model of operation of Nepali Maoist to deceive the general population using greed and fear as they entered the revolution. Generally the people of villages were persuaded by their tactics so the Maoists were able to rise into mainstream politics.
Now, as their ability to use greed and fear among the more educated crowd has diminished, they are using the age old weapon of patriotism to rile up the remaining crowd. Yes the place you stepped on during your birth is the most important thing in your life. Nothing is more important in life as place you were born. For a casual clueless brainwashed Nepali, it seems like the Maoist is speaking the truth so they are happy to follow him once again for he only speaks the truth about how great the motherland is.
For more practical people who know how great the motherland is, they quickly realized that motherland is simply an extension of the earth. Before everything else, we are human beings, and human beings are from planet earth. So our foremost identity is human beings from planet earth. Then we can divide our identity by country, city, village, ethnicity, race, school, politics, and anything else your heart desires or has been conditioned by your upbringing.
Yes, you can keep stressing on your ethnicity and keep practicing meaningless customs if that makes you feel good about yourself, or you can embrace the modern day world and strive to compete in a global world. There is nothing wrong with being proud of your country, but there is nothing wrong with being prouder of your global position either.
Before the age of internet, when everything was limited by national boundaries, it made sense to be excessively conditioned by nationalistic feelings but with the onset of internet and free flowing information and ideas, we do not need to limit ourselves to a restricted view. If you choose to limit yourself to your age old views then it's your loss.
Some people had given example of leaving your own mother like leaving Nepal. But that is a very cheap analogy. The anology is closer when you compare being brought up by loving parents and then when you grow up, you want to seek your own fortune and destiny so you leave your parent's nest and try to move on to bigger and better things but you never lose the love for your parents. Even if your parents have their own issues you love them and try to visit whenever you can.
However I have known parents who are outright abusive to their children even after the children have grown up, so they might consider not going back to their parents. That's the same story with place of birth. If place of birth is great and gives you great opportunity and is a good place to live your life, then you don't mind going back to it. But if it's full of bad things, negative energy, insecurity, and things beyond your control then as a reasonable human being you make your own decision to go there or not. (And infested with parasites like the Maoist - I might add)
Noone has the right to point fingers at you for making your own decisions. Those people who point fingers do not have any other opportunities so they want to drag you down as well so they don't feel so bad. Otherwise I don't see a reason for them to drag you down. They are nothing but sore losers. They should question themselves, if they love Nepal so much what have they done for it? Just staying in Nepal and saying I love Nepal doesn't mean a thing.
Try to get in a relationship with a woman and keep saying you love her but don't do anything for love. Just saying I love you doesn't mean crap, and that's your misplaced patriotism to you sir.
