Dear friends,
I am visiting London next week. I have no idea whether or not US currency is accepted in London.
If not, where should I exchange currency?

And also, please give me some tips what I should do and what not.
I will be staying close to Tower bridge.

Thanks

@nepaliketo30 - your advice is funny and inaccurate. You are just hitting in the dark. Little knowledge is dangerous.

@Donald_duck - Look at this link. There are advices and discussions.

I used my Bank of America debit card in Barclays ATM at central London.

If u can find the local money exchange stores in your area guving u a decent conversion, that is the best option. Exchanging dollars to pound at the airport or using dollars in London will hit u with worst exchange rates. If u r planning to spend few hundreds, just use the dollar there or exchange at the airport. But if you are planning to spend in Ks, using dollars or exchanging at the airport is not a goid idea. If u live in the city area, google it and you will find lots of money exchange agents.

You can use Debit card but ask the debit card provider if there is any additional fee for ATM use as well conversion fees.
Discover credit card does not charge foreign currency conversion fees but how some cities they do not accept discover.
