चिनो को रुप मा राख्ने भए त भत्केको घर किन पुननिर्माण गर्ने? पुरिएको मान्छे लाइ किन खनेर माथि निकाल्ने? होइन र ?
Even though historical monuments are part of our identity, it is also true that Nepal is economically so backward in order to rebuild all. Therefore, the reconstruction effort has to be carried out by taking this approach at front and center; it has to be ascertained how much in revenue each historical structure has the potential to generate to maintain itself before ear marking the funds for each project. The art lovers would gladly pay good amount of entrance fee to access these magnificent monuments. When will the government learn to capitalize on them?

To be really honest, I always thought Dharhara looked ugly.
Bhimsen Thapa and the monarchy must have constructed the only high-rise to merely serve as a watch-tower to instantly learn of an advancing conquering force who could potentially end their party and merry-making.
Even if the Dharhara is reconstructed, it is not going to strike the fancy of a tourist from a developed world. For example, a cash-laden New Yorker, who see the immaculately beautiful Chrysler building day-in and day-out, is not going to stop-a-while and marvel at this blandly cylindridal and stiffly upright structure! I don't really see any chance of that.

@Geetmaijawafdiuki. Dharahara is not just about how beautiful or ugly it is. It had the sentiment and the symbol of Kathmandu. Since the past...people talked about dharahara being allest building and it just had that essense which is in the heart. May be you were not born in Kathmandu so you are having hard to understand it's sentiment value.

Dharahara became a tower of death for so many unfortunate people. It has scummed to earthquake twice. Unlike many other temples in KTM it is neither a site of religious importance nor it is a site of fine Nepali art & architecture. Above all it has no utility other than to get a good taste of KTM's smog for people desperately seeking to refresh themselves with KTM's smog. Geeees ... please leave it as it stands now. The Atomic Bomb Dome in Hiroshima City, Japan.
