Lot of people use youtube to listen to music but everytime you have to use something else on the phone, the music gets turned off. You are forced to keep youtube open.
There is a solution to this. Search for "mytube pro video" on the app store. Once you download this app, you can play youtube in background saving your battery as well as allowing you to keep listening to your favorite music while you are doing something else in your phone.

if you are in an iphone , open youtube from safari or if you are using android then open youtube in firefox.

I use android and use mozilla firefox browser. It wont shut down the music when cell phone is locked. It works

You need to do one more thing: You can listen YouTube in iPhone via browser. Yes the YouTube does stop as soon as you minimize the browser by clicking the home button. The following steps: 1) play YouTube in any browser e.g. Safari 2) press home button ( YouTube does stop) 3) swipe up from the buttom (above home button)of iPhone 4) swipe to the left 5) click the play button = listen YouTube in the background
