Since the premium processing for H1B is closed now, what will happen if someone now gets a job offer on Post doc or faculty or similar? Any thoughts?

This is not a legal advice, but you can still apply through the regular processing (which takes much longer, of course) and use up your OPT in the mean time. Some universities, which made hiring decisions earlier than they normally would (smart on their part), applied for premium processing *before April 3*.
