Hello

Travelling to Kathmandu from USA, making a stopover in Thailand for 1 week to visit some friends who live there.

Booking 2 separate tickets:
1. One way ticket - USA - Thailand BKK staying in Thailand for 1 week
2. After 1 week - One Way ticket - Bangkok - Kathmandu planning to stay in KTM for a while and purchasing my return ticket to USA later.

I just found out that Thailand allows up to 30 days no visa for US citizen but you have to show a return ticket or an onward ticket leaving Thailand or you will not be allowed to board a flight.

When I try to purchase a 1 way ticket from Bangkok to Kathmandu with Thail Lion Air website, they give a warning that you may not be allowed a 1 way ticket....

Will a us citizen be allowed to board a one way flight bangkok to kathmandu - by thai immigration or the airline staff there or the nepal immigration - is there an issue?
