oh english ko pundit haru...............what is correct nepali or nepalese in english?

Hey man,I always write NEPALI in entry card in immigration but some makes correct as NEPAL and some doesn't correct it.Make it popular as NEPALI,not NEPALESE heheeheheh.

I prefer to be called Nepali as it is what most Nepalese would say.But off course the correct words for the people of Nepal should be Nepalese.I believe most people who call or prefer to use Nepali most be doing due to national pride.

BTW, yedi mero naam Binod bhayo bhane maile 'SFRTU' lekhera 'This is pronounced as Binod' bhanna sakchu ki jasto lagcha malai. Yeha haru ke ke bichar cha kunni

I go for Nepalese...sounds more suitable. I think whichever u choose depends
on the context.

To be precise,
Nepalese is a term coined by British people. So it exists as a standard noun to represent citizens of Nepal in most of the English dictionaries. Same goes with Sinhalese, Taiwanese, Bhutanese, Japanese, Senagalese, Portuguese and so on.

But as Nepali is the right word, we have started using Nepali to describe ourselves these days. And that is exactly what we need to do.

My paach paisa goes for Nepali.

The only thing I konw is that Nepali is in Nepali and Nepalese is in english...
aba american bhanne ki amrikan bhanne ki amerikali , british bhanne ki belayati bhanne,---ki khaire ra kale bhanne... russian bhanne ki rusi, chinese ki chini, french ki franci, persian ki farasi....????

if words like pundit, karma, chakra, guru and pundit gets recogtnised by oxford dictionary why not our lang ke........haina saathi ho

newuser ko uttar sab bhanda thik ho! i really don't like the term "nepalese"....it sounds so generic like japanese, chinese, taiwanese....and i have never seen the word "nepalese" written in nepali. it think it's just a term that some NEPALI ex-pats use, but i never heard anyone in nepal using it. jai nepal, jai NEPALI!!!
