September 10 was a Free Software Day in which there was a exhibition and introduction for linux was held in Yala Maya Kendra, Patan Dhoka. Where a detailed intorduction for using free software was given. They told many pros of linux over Microsoft Word. Which was considerable, i think. I also got the thing that using free software was really a gud thing 2 du 2 make software access to most common users. At last a film was shown Revolution OS , last boring but quite informative. Where it was shown how linux can be proved better than microsoft. Where i was quite satisfied with the theme but one thing strucked in mind that if they provide free software then how could their company be so rich that their share value rose up to 287 percent ???? How could this be happen, can anyone satisfy me ?

You need to look into their company, they just don't provide free software;
Basic version is free, professional/enterprise is NOT.

yeah .. and there is lots of money on support and other proprietary packages.. But there is huge misconcept of Linux being free .. Linux kernel is free but Red Hat Linux Server?s are not .. and Oracle Database running on Linux belongs to Oracle and its nor free .. so there is lots of money there ....And Linux being better than Windows, for just basic users, there is still long way for Linux to go .. but linux is really good these days.. far better than Red Hat Linux 7.2 i installed 3 1/2 yrs back

Im not sure about the detail of what "web009" is referring to... I downloaded Linux WHITE BOX from FTP sites in 3cds, and was able to install it pretty easily without a knowledge of Linux. It had pretty easy step by step instructions... and I was able to setup emails, Intenet, printer, all worked fine. Office product that came with the package was great... after all its FREE

free software is not only linux. there are 100s of free software .

But I am still confused how come da company got so rich.
Do they get aid or help frm da supporters . If they do so then also it doesn't make a complete sense. Pls hanumaan ji u did'nt make it clear about the basic version . What they consist of ? So pls effort telling one thing more -- What is included in their professional n enterprise ?
