The government has banned Nepali movie Balidaan, as reported in Kantipuronline.com.This government has reached a new level of autocracy by taking this action. I wonder what will be the next step, ban the entire media..?

We are taking your word that the ban of the movie Balidaan is not appropriate. But the question is, isn't is stupid enough to believe others before we watched the movie and decided if it was appropriate to ban or not?

There's nothing wrong in the movie itself, its the fear of the govt as they say in Nepali 'Ban ko bagh le bhanda Man ko bagh le khancha'.

What kind of movie is Baalidan? Any reasons for the government banning it or is it the usual...nothing to do..so gotta do something stuff?

well i haven't seen the movie but seen the review it's something about a guys journey from panchyat rule to establish democracy and his balidan

oooh! politics movie raicha..no wonder! yea, i guess the government is trying to everything they can to protect the monarchy.

I saw the movie two times....very inspiring. Its over the 1990s movement, the harsh panchayet regime and a young mans story in his haunt for revolution against the system.
Its definitely not a movie to be banned though its inclined to communist and may somehow inspire youngsters to join maoist group, but thats a rare possiblity.
