Dear all,

The King's government in Nepal has once again cut off all telephone
lines
in the country. The land phones, cell (mobile) phones and CDMA phones
have been shut down from the early morning 19th February. Reportedly
the
government has already arrested hundreds of political leaders, and is
preparing to announce Marshal Law in the country.

Failing to consolidate unsuccessful coup staged on the First of
February
2005, and being scared of a scheduled mass movement against the royal
regime in Kathmandu on 20th Feb, 2006 called by the democratic
political
parties, the government has taken this step. If it imposes Marshall Law
there will be no independent newspapers left in this country and
probably
many journalists will also be jailed.

For the survival of free press in this country, and to protect
fundamental rights of the people we need your support.

i am all up for a democratic Nepal but I agree with EjuraM, if the King assures everyone that his intensions are good then I would rather trust him than 1000 other corrupt politicians who just dont' seem to agree to anything, it seems like it's pretty much their way or no way. Pakistan is doing fine with what it has, it might seem wrong and all but as long as the king doesn't interfere with human rights and other civil liberties than I dont' have any objection to it..
I just wish Birendra had done that when he was alive.. for Gyane i can't say ppl would be supportive..

i dont' really think anybody believes that Diependra killed everybody.. but i don't really see any solution to what's going on, the king is not Trustworthy, so r the politicians or maoists any better.. I dont' think so.

I don't believe that king will go for military system. I find king much more democratic in these days. Its natural process then wheneverthe something happen in the country for its soveirgnity, country has to take some bold measures. So king did the same thing. He needs to save the country.

I dont know what to tell, but one thing i am noticing that King G is travelling all over the place after taking the power, reaching the poor people openly from east to west of our country, i know its not possible all the time but for at least for now thats what has been doing. And still travelling.

How many times our elected political leaders went back to their place where they got elected from? They were more focused on inagaurating different things, saving their chair, power, always pulling eachother and trying to prove who is better to rule the country and knocking the door at palace all the time complaining about other political leaders and parties. So at this point, these good for nothing leaders and parties created moist, made nepalese kill nepalese, and made our peaceful country as hell.

All we want at this period is peace and security. Do something besides pulling eachother, save nepal and her soveriegnity. We dont care who rules the country.

I would trust king more than India, politicians and maobadi. US and Europe would not like it. What does Nepal want US or Europe to be? Why they influence us but not us to them? Is that because we are ignorant (Stupid) or poor?

Hell with all of them. Lets also fight for the price we are paying for tech. Our farmers should not be selling acers of land to buy a jabo computer for his son. Our land should have more value as we ahve the most beautiful climate. Poverty is relative. It depends whom you are comparing with and what values you give to each item?

I would trust myself, my freedom, and my ability to do something for the nation. I dont need to trust neither the King nor the politicians......

they are not preparing.... nepal already has a military sashan technically, only formalyy it is not declared, hello.. curfews no gathering allowed all leaders are under arrest does that ring bells.
king is no substitute for corrupt leaders he is wrose than them.
