Need some help here I was trying to get a cell phone that works in Nepal, can anyone tell, what kind should I buy? And one more thing, I got this real tight phone that says quad band, does this work back home, or should I get a different band? Please help.

Quad band is good. But make sure the cell phone is of GSM variety. And furthermore, it has to be unlocked.

I think GSM system mobile is suitable for nepal, you can find more info at http://www.ntc.net.np/ I am not sure on this but I am sure that CDMA mobile set is not suitable here in Nepal I am using sony ericsson T230 Thanks http://www.parabara.com/ Free Web directory nepal

you need cell phone that works on 900MHz. Make sure that phone must be unlocked otherwise it won't work there. If you are buyig from any ph carrier like Tmobile or cingular than you have call them and ask for unlock code, they will tell you how to unlock it. Preety much you need UNLOCKED 900MHZ GSM CELL PHONE. I hope this will help.
