"..bhaag sala chitta pareko gaii charauney jumli ani gulmi kaaa pakhey haru hooo.." Dear all, Sorry that i have to quote such a nonsense remark by Hydrogen Sulphide. Hydrogen Sulphide, congratulations!!! you have totally validated your name, stinky and rotten, I understand your frustration, but to make a remark as such only degrades the solidarity Sajha.com is trying to create. If you really have legit point to make, do it by NOT OFFENDING anyone with regards to their background. p.s If you think you are civilized enough, people would expect and apology

I apprecaite the comments made by stranger and praveen s . The only reason for posting names is with concern over those guys who are in trouble thinking if the nepalese scoiety in here can provide any help to reinstate their stay for the purpose they came for. It was not meant to insult anybody or for publicity of any terms and I dont think anyone would do that in such serious matter. I notify the admin to remove their names. Still any update and any co-operation in the process is appreciated.

Nepalese people who claim as a student.... go to school... do not drop out and work at Gas pump (petrol pump) in Texas. Your father and mother or parents has BIG DREAM and BIG EXPECTATION on YOU. BACK TO SCHOOL..... IF YOU WORK SAVE MONEY FOR SCHOOL, NOT FOR PARTY, ALCOHAL DRINKS AND FUN. GET a Degree, Support family and your mother land.

nationalist5 The most urgent concern for all Nepalese students in the US is to how to get around the laws and be able to work off campus without getting caught by INS. Stop your idealist crap !! Rather come up and share the 'tricks of the trade' to not get caught by INS while working off campus.

... I know a few ppl who personally knew the guys who got arrested by INS.... and i think.. 2 of em were doin there Masters and one of em was gonna gratuate this fall.....he was just taking one last class before he graduated...... ......Beaumont is a small town near Houston... i know a few nepalese who went there, and most of em worked in gas stations around the school...... so the ppl who know the guys have assumed that the school authority found them working at the Gas Stations and informed INS.... .. International Student Advisor at Lamar University.... as I have been told ... is really really strict.... they usually have INS ppl at international student orientation... specifically to warn the students "NOT TO WORK" off campus... she personally hates her students working off-campus. ... so in this case, if she wants, she can save the students from gettin deported.... i kn ow that coz when my friend didn't go to school for 2 semesters... and INS asked him to leave the country... he went back to school... asked the int'l students' co-ordinator... and requested him to do something abt it... he easily got his i-20 approved and got re-instated.... .. for these guys from Lamar... this isnt really a serious issue.... its all upto the International Student's Advisor.... that b$tch.... ... Thanks all i know.... from what I have heard about them.... ... wishing them all the luck... Thank you.

I'm closely monitoring esp. two people they are "dyamn" and "naake". 'dyamn' is really really dammit!!!!! and 'naake' u might be good people, but this is just FYI there are a lot of other people who browse this websites for different purposes. So, be careful! For both of you, develop a positive attitude unless/otherwise you'll get caught - I'm sure!

Solu If what you say is true, then we need to come together and inform all the Nepali students around the country NOT to transfer there and warn the new students from Nepal. It's a sad thing that we get caught while Mexican are the target, esp in Texas. This boarder security with Mexico and the terrorism is getting way too far. None makes any sense.

For those who are complaining about having to pay three times tuition fee... didnt u know that when u received your I20 how much its going to cost to go to school. When u went to apply for the visa didnt u show that ur parents can afford to send you here to study. When you got the visa i dont think you were thinking about these things. Probably you guys threw a big party before u came and now u are complaining. I feel sorry for the people who got caught by INS. Only things i wanted to tell is that quit complaining about what we have to do to get through college. I have gone throught the same things and i was lucky that i was not caught by INS. I knew what i have to do the day i came to USA so people quit complaining

Hey Mike, What u think we were not aware about the tuition fees when we were in Nepal?Ofcourse we do and we knew that we will have a hard time studying along with work.Do you think it is good to ask for the money again and again for our tuition to our parents.Might be you are the lucky guy and your parents have earned lots of money but here are lots of people over here who came to US by taking loans. And they have to work instead of high risk. So think it properly and stop blaming others and talking about nonsense stuffs like partying without being cautious.

Mike smith, I know you're pointing at me, so let me address you directly. When i came to usa in 1997, worked only inside the college for 5 years , graduated, now i have work authorization to work anywhere i want to. When i was in Nepal, i didn't know that is was unauthorized to work off-campus. Lots of students comeing from Nepal still do not know that. Also, you do not have to show financial support for 4 years. It is for a year only. My sponsor had enough than that to support for me for a year. And I did not work for a year. Hell i did not engaged myself on off campus work for the whole 4 years because i was in a remote , out of nowhere college, and i didn't know anyone who could help me job wise. There were two gastations , 2 restaurants and 4 bars in that little town of 8000 people. Having to ask money from Nepali parents , you feel like you're getting raped again and again. You feel guilty, irresponsible and whatnot... When every semester would begin to start , i would be in trauma... i couldn't sleep or over sleep.. over eat and gain a lot of weight. or couldn't eat at all... . i couldn't think straight thinking of huge tution that i have to come up with... And i'm sure it's not only me but a lot of Nepali students have to go through that.. The girl at the Estates park is one of the many Nepali students who came to light, what stress can do to you. I am no way bashing on the US foreign policy. They were straight forward and they let everything infront of us when we were coming. However, we did not see the clear figure because we were ignorant. We thought that everyone can work in the usa once they land here, which obvisously is not true. So we should educate Nepali students about the situation. Let them know in Nepal that it is not wise to come here without good financial support of scholorships. No matter what their friends say working in texas and ocean city say about slip and slide, it can catch up on you, they have to know that. Usually Indians are smart and they come here in grad studies, receive financial waiver from thier departments. while Nepali students put double and tripple shift at an Indian gastation, just to pay thier tution, and constantly worry about tution, rent, food, work, ill treatment from Indian owners and what not... It is in a way duty of you Mike smith, and me and everyone who has been through such difficult situations to make aware of the situation to the new comers. I always tell my friends and relatives wanting to come here that it is unauthorized to work here as a student. We should all spread the word and let them know that there is no slip and slide as thier friends might say.You get caught, if not u dump all your hard work on your outofstate tution. So what's the point of working, going through all the mental torture..

Don’t criticize others and before you do criticize others…wait for 5 f****** minutes, think long and hard and answer yourself how would you have reacted if some criticizes you for something. And if you like criticizing then why don’t stand in front of a mirror and look at you stinky little face and criticize as much as you can and at the end of it make yourself ready to puke from you nose ,mouth, and your loop hole.

Well it is pretty obvious that the ones who did not have to get any off campus experience are going to criticize the one who had the privilige of getting some of that real american experience..but who cares,,nepali dhani bau ko chora choriharu ko jatai tyasto ho,,,aaru lai tala dekhauna payo bhane aafu k k na bhayo bhanthancha.. Well another fact is that who said that Indians dont work outside school..they do,,but they know the loopholes,,work in malls, gas stations, motels (desi owned) where no one ask them for their SSN before issuing them a pay (on cash- no tax)..and most of those employers are migrants from our neighboring nation. I have seen Chinese and Malaysians work their ass off as well,,the only exceptions to this are the Japanese as far as I have noticed,,for whom USA is probably no better than their own place,,, less paying and what not,,well another fact is that indians are no smarter than nepalis,,some may be ,,but most of them are products of good networks of seniors, who furnish them from day 1 (starting from settling down in USA) with old course materials, old exam papers, and solutions,,solutions to the assignments and they do get repeated..and this network thing continues even till the point where they get recruited for jobs after graduation (even the recruiters are indians in most of the cases--esp in software they take people like crazy irrespective of their background and ...)and they get it relatively easier than others with all good references,, but nepali haru chai khutta tanne kaam garyo,,toyota camry and honda civic kinera danga parera basyo,,tyai ho,,and yeah majority of indians dont come for undergrad.. yestai ho,,it might sound out of context,,it was some 6 years back I attended one of those "educational conference" over in hotel soaltee, where those representatives (business people) from some colleges here in USA came over with the displays of their schools,,they had all kinds of attractive things like free laptop for each student and bla bla bla and most of the schools had their fees ranging merely $25grands a year..and they were willing to confirm one's admition right away the very next day on the spot, if one could provide doc of financial support which is nothing more than a bank statement, and they had options like ,,if someone does not have TOEFL taken or have unacceptable scores,,they can go and take english classes at their college and it will be ok after that..(WTF)..One of the old gentleman, who looked no different than a prof. said in his speech "in USA no international student is allowed to work off campus, but everyone does it, so it is ok" and I can never forget that sentence ( of course i did not know how grave an issue was it until I came here and understood the things like deportation and legalities--tyo budho ko chak ma laat (or sisnu pani) hannu parne).. anyway there are still crooks in nepal with educational consultancies who claim to get I20 and visa for students and gurantee admission in schools here, ,",no TOEFL ,,,no problem,,just pay us $1500 and everything will be fine" that's their motto (as if sending people in gulf) and I feel amazed when students and ( moreover ktm ko dhani parents) dont think twice for heading into such things..and chora chori USA gayo bhanera danga parera bascha..it amazes me,,I came for master's and things went without a hassle,,i had a faint idea about how things were going to be after coming here,,and it was indeed like that,,I even feel remorse towards those people in American Cetre over in KTM,,who are no good to be kept there(esp that middle aged lady) but act as if they know all the nuts and bolts about education in USA.. I do feel bad when things like this come across nepalis,,and feel why dhotis are so blessed in this matter
