you are rite........ taht noodle and the meat made mah stomach grumble for more than a day....... I had a real bad day for 2 days.. the day of the concert..... at home after returning and the day after the concert.......
I didn't like the concert.....But I wish I could see that sweet ,beautiful and cute lady...... once again.........
pupiffy Didnt you check out at eBay during the past week..there was a frenzy bidding process......even the PlayStation 3 buyers online were caught by surprize.
I was at the Himalayan live concert last year as well as this one.Last year the hall was jammed and the concert ROCKED.This year there were some technical difficulties but the first half was out of track. It got better in the second half but it was so so. I was at both the concert at ANA too and in my opinon Himalayan live concert last year-excellent Okely/Haris ANA-excellent Mukti ANA-very good Himalayan live concert this year; Mingma Sherpa -A+,Nima rumba-A+,tsering-A+,raju Lama-A,Sindhu malla-D(Can I go further below?) I missed the 1974 AD.
Having something or other to do with all the past concerts, about which you asked above, and the recent Himalayan Live Concert, I may be bias when I say they were all excellent. But, again, I am always practicing what I preach, and that is, “It’s up to you to have funâ€. And as you can see in the pictures and the short video clip above, many were exactly doing just that – having a whole lot of fun by singing together with the artists and dancing like crazy, in a good way.
Now, just a few things about the Himalayan Live Concert 2006.
If you’re in the US, you know how you felt when you first got here…. And I’m referring to Jet Lag. To some, it takes days before you start feeling normal.
Nine artists had flown into New York only on Friday, November 24. The next day they were to perform. Imagine how they were feeling. Since around 3 pm most of them were saying how sleepy they were. And in most sincere defense of Sindhu Malla, it wasn’t only jet lag but also the fact that she was under the weather – with a bad cold, she was sitting in a corner of the dressing room, drinking hot water and quiet.
I had dinner with all the artists yesterday, and at 9:00 p.m., two had their heads already on the table, not being able to stay awake. Sindhu was fighting hard to stay awake and left soon after dinner – to hit the bed.
So, under the circumstances, all I want to say is, they performed very well. And needless to say, I had a blast.
Yeah ssYN, It's easy to balme others .right?..you guys sell a crack for $40 and now u'r saying that they had a "jet lag" ....

So we were there to imagine .HUmm. Why they came on friday ? u'd call them on that same saturday (nov25th).............cheap, unorganised or may be lack of experienced.
Personally i enjoyed lil bit but SSYn next time onwards pls give some time/rest for the artists before they hit the field.........call them couple days before the prog.....
Nepali artists are not given any respect in the US. Nepalis in the US have the mentality that hey i'm in the US now so these artists are nothing to me. Some even ridicule the artists as being a common nobody in the US. Even organizers bring them from Nepal a day in advance in order to save some money on accomodation and food, and treat them like some commodity whereby they spend the least amount possible while maximizing profits.
I don't want to be seemingly opening a can of worms when I mentioned the jet lag etc... It was merely to explain any shortcomings anyone saw in the part of any artist. And blame game will be the one I'll try to run away from farthest.
But, meroworld brings out a very good topic - about many of us in the US not respecting artists from Nepal. And I admire the way he 'twisted' it around to include the organizers as ones also not respecting them.
First thing first. As far as I can see, artists from Nepal are respected very much by most of the Nepalis in the U.S. Throngs coming to see them, inviting them to their houses, offering them gifts and monies are a few examples of how much they are admired. Then again, there are always some who not only not respect artists but respcts almost no one. They are, I think, the exceptions and not the rule.
Secondly, to blame organizers, in this case, for the artists' late arrival in the U.S. to 'save money on accomodations and food' is, to the say the least, totally unfounded. I saw it with my own eyes, about three weeks ago, when the organizers had in their hand, ready to be mailed that day, a letter of approval for a visa from Homeland Security, or whoever issues them, for all nine members.
ssny hey where u from i think i know u man,i was in concert, i was the guy who start to dance infront but the yellow tshirts they didnt let me dance and told me only after half time we will be allow to dance, i think i was drunk and start to argue with them, sorry about that to all those yellow tshirt guys
rockend u are right dog that was the worse concert and worse food,
what the fu(k the artists they came to nyc on friday night, that's fu(ked up, why they didnt came like 4 or 5 days early .............to save money and food cost what the hell if u guys have told me early i would have let sindhu malla stay in my appartment and i will have gone to my friend house to sleep, hahahahah but i am serious
most important thing is hey guys dont go to concert on 23th dec,its gonna be waste of money and time
Well don Key.. well I do accept ur comment but I ain't .............. I hope you got what I meant to say.......well ssny plz don't say jetlag.........
coz all the people were saying mingma did the best... of all and he was rocking.. even mah sister became the fan of mingma.. I don't how she became the fan but you know what mmah sister never heard of the nepalese artist named mingma..
So, what 's the difference betwen sindhu ,raju, nima, mingma..well there is no any difference.. they all are nepalese and they all are professional artists.....Aren't they.....
Well mero world were you in the concert.. you can't say we don't have respect to the nepalese artist.. if we don't have respect why would we go in their concert...... Well you are wrong mero world.....
Well 23 rd DECEMBER is mah b'day.... well waht to do.. In mah b'day.. I will be working but.. don't know what to do after work........
Don_key - Glad your scuffle with the yellow shirted volunteers didn't escalate much. I didn't hear from the organizers but, I'm guessing, that the reason they didn't want people dancing in the front during the first half was to let other non-dancers, just viewers/listeners, to enjoy the show also. They came early to get good seats, and if all they saw were people dancing infront, their effort would have been in vain - and they'd be mighty mad, wouldn't you think?
But, I hear that in the next show on Dec 23, there'll be very few chairs - only for elderly and children. Rest of the floor will be open - for standing and dancing.
Rockend - I encourage you to come celebrate your birthday with some of your friends and over a thousand fellow Nepalese. If you promise you're coming, I'll speak with the organizers so that the whole crowd can sing Happy Birthday to you. How's that sound? (We'll work something out making sure you're there and that your real name is taken to be announced that night).
Well SSny I don't know weather I am comming or not..... coz you know why?// my $40 was a waste last time ....... I don't want to throw $40 in rubbish bin yar..... but it's also mah b'day.......well don't know what to do... I guess I won't be able to sit beside the gal who was so sweet, charmingand beautiful..... beside meh last time......in the concert.........
Well I don't know about the 23rd coz you know what I am never prepared for anything... I may be there I may not.. be.. I never plan for the comming day.... haha!!! the most unprepared person in the world...... I have never planned for the comming day in mah life. till today.........
Rockend - when you come to your decision, let me know here. No promise, but will try to do what I offered. In the mean time, here's a video for your sister and all of Mingma's fan... his most popular song on video.
