It just doesn't make sense when you try to put logic behind all the incidents in Nepal. Maoists killed thousands of people and destroyed our infrastructure we put them on spotlight and make them leaders instead of trying them in court. They strip the Kings power, saying this would be a new step towards democracy. Well we haven't even moved an inch foward since this incident. If King is just another citizen he has freedom of speech. He raised a question, which 22 million Nepalese should be raising including him. "Progress and Democracy" should go hand in hand and if its not we should be questioning our leaders.
The leaders know this is a good question, and if the people realized it, their future ( as in being elected) will be in jeopardy. So what they are doing is, distracting people by telling them thats its unethical, undemocratic for the king to give such a statement instead of proving the King's statement wrong by working towards developing Nepal. The truth is, its unethical and undemocratic for the leaders to not allow another citizen (K Gyanendra) to practice his freedom of speech. If it requires you to kill 20,000 innocent people for your voice to be heard as a democratic leader than lets call Nepal a country with jungle-cracy not democracy.
And whats up with the terai strikes, they already have two factions. These leaders can't even create harmony amoung themselves what good would they do toward the good of the terai people. Prachanda the terrorist went one step ahead to call this a royalist movement. Did he forget that one of the sides is a separated faction of the Maoists? Didn't they separate a while ago because they thought the maoists were mistreating them.
Damnnnnnn its confusing.
I guess this is what happens to a country that doesn't have any visionaries who r leaders, all we have are marchers. One comes to power all the others start marching.
(FYI: I called Prachanda a terrorists becoz I am currently in the US and the United States still lists him and his party as terrorists. I don't care what the ignorant people call him but a man responsible for 20,000 deaths is a terrorist by my books).
