I have applied for I 485 on August. I havent received my receipt number nor finger printing notice till now. I am planning to go to Nepal on 2nd week of Nobember. Is it safe to go to nepal without getting those thing.I talked with my law firm and they told me they can reschedule the fingerprinting date when they receive the notice but do you think they can receive this noteice. I was told that i was supposed to get those notice not them. Did somebody go thru same problem.

Hello xbox, They send the letter to you as well as your representative. They should be able to reschedule pretty easily. I got my fingerprinting notice a month or so ago, and my lawyer received it as well. Going to Nepal and back is not a problem as long as you have your H-1b stamped and it is still valid. Dont even mention anything to the port officer about your 485 application. Good luck!
