This is the year of riches.
Major markets are in, baseball ratings are high. In the midst of all these, which team is going to win it all? I think the two richest clubs in baseball have the best shot; it's either going to be Red Sox or Yankees.
Why Yankees? One word: Joba Chamberlain. Sure, Mariano, Wang (despite his 1st game collapse), Andy and Hughes along with 12 other superstars are a good reason; Yankees have a big plus this year that they lacked for last six years; a good closer. Just check Joba's changeups, going from 99 mph to 75 and harassing the hitters. The best hitting team in the MLB will get into its rhythm and Yankees will advance, for sure.
As for Red Sox, arguably the best team in MLB. Their pitching rotation can be untouchable in the postseason. Beckett is proven now, the Japanese miracle could prove his money's worth, while Schilling (why haven't they named him Yankees killer yet?) can be vintage Schilling any given day. Manny and Papi can be the best hitting combo in all of baseball. If they do a good job in scouting, they will get Yankees and every other team. But sure, I am rooting against them.
This is the year of riches, it is going to be either Yanks or Red Sox.
