Dear Computer geek,
I bought toshiba with window vista on it and it is making my computer very slow. I want to knock out Vista and install XP.
I tried installing XP from CD but it did not let me do it. How can I remove vista and install XP?
Your suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks

If you use the "partition magic" and divide your hard drive. You can always have both Xp and Vista. One thing always remember, you should always do a research before buying. Don't forget to google next time.
If you need help, just pay me $20/hr. Good luck

@spearhead what exactly was the problem? Anyway can you post the model number or the hardware specs. you can do a free scan of your hardware here http://driveragent.com Most probably your problem was because your pc uses sata hard drive and windows xp cannot find the hard disk. To solve it you need to go to your bios settings and change the drive mode to IDE or ATA or something like that. Just play around.

ya vista really sucks, my dell inspiron 1525 with core2duo 7250 and 2gb memory hardly ran vista, and all those security messages are so annoying. Now i dual boot with ubuntu and win xp and its a pleasure to use now. These days while buying laptops it is better to buy from vendors who have bit of history of xp and linux support. ATM dell is the only choice, which is the main reason I bought dell laptop.
