Hello all,

One of my friends thinks he is in trouble.The thing is that he has already sent all his documents including the copy of SSN to an Indian Consultancy for H1B filing.Before he sent his documents,one of the representatives from that consultancy kept saying,"pls send as soon as possible etc..".As a matter of fact,he sent his documents after exchanging several emails and phone conversations.They have talked about all the things including salary,training,accomodation etc.But when he sent all his documents by overnight delivery  postal service,he stopped responding. Now,it is very hard to get him on phone.He was available a couple of  times,but he just said he was busy .... he was gonna call after 2 hours and send email in detail etc...But,neither did he send any mail he promised to send nor he gave a call.This was the matter of last Friday.Now,my friend faces two problems:one is about the all his personal information he sent to those dhotis,who might misuse his identity for their benefits,and another is about the opportunity he is gonna miss ,as March 1 is coming very soon.

So,what could be their (consultancy people) motive?How should  this problem be solved?Any suggestion/solution would be greatly appreciated.

no idea man. i know that will be mine situation too after couple of years.so interested in reading all those solution which are applicable to that problem.

First of all, let us admit that we are the biggest hypocrits.we dont like indians, we cant stop talking bad about them, we still ask them for their help. we work for them like dogs, extended hours with minimum pay and no benefits at all, plus inhuman treating by dhotis.on top of that now we need those indians even after we fraduate colleg. we are being completely dependant on them. we have two solution, quit hating indian so much or quit asking them for help every time. ive seen hundreds of people get H1 without those blood sucking dhotis. Let us believe in ourself and do it the right way.In your case, superexchange, I would not spend a moment to let the indian know that i will take all necessary legal action against him if he misuses my confidential information.

My understanding is you don't need SSN to file H1B.

Garib dai, you are right we should believe in ourselves and do it without dhoties.But not everyone is furtunate enough to find good company sponsors who are willing to sponsor for your h1bs. h1bs are getting exhausted by these fake consultancies who are bringing dhotis fresh out of India. lots of dhoties are not capable of doing their job once they are hired as consultants. But they take 7 out of 10 h1b quotas, leaving Nepalis and all other US graduates with a very slim chance to get direct hire. And so far US don't give shit about this situation of F1 students. All they are worried about is to get make their life miserable while they are here and make sure they live as quickly as possible after they graduate. However, although they know Indians are manupulating the sytem of h1b visa, they dont want to do anything. Cuz the only care about cheap labor.

  Nepali students don't just go join dhotis because they love the job. They are foced to. most families in Nepal can't offord to send money for their children every semester and you know , they can't freely pick jobs. So they are left with no other option but to join them.

so we have to get their help because America has given them a liscence to cheat lately and we are left with no other option. but they are not nice and humble to deal with. they will do everything to cheat you at the same time. hence, we hate them and wish we didn't have to take their help and knowingly that they are cheats have to take their help. it is not hypocracy it is helplessness , my friend.

 

that is why i never went to them.  though i struggled a lot and many asked me to join them, i never liked what they were/are doing.  so, did not join them.  it was a struggle but i believed in myself and i knew if i got the opportunity i can do my job well. 

i really hate when these indian consultancies bring people with no/little background with fake resume while tons of other deserving people have to cross their finger to get H1b. 

hope US government will do something for these guys.

brother dyamn, you are right. however, who says that we have to live here forever . why cant we go back home after we graduate?we are not helpless, we have a choice, pursue our goal of American education, be honest and go back home as most of us told the counselor while getting visa.helplessness is not having any choice, we have plenty of choices, we just choose the wrong one in a wrong way.

Garibdai , you are right if everything was black and white. If such was the case then why  H1b visas are available to apply for F1 students. If our ultimate destiny was go back to Nepal  maintaining the no intenet to immigrate to the US visa then why F1 visa students are provided the benefit to apply for h1b which has double intenet( intenet to immigrate to the US). Lets say  tomorrow, they make it a law for f1s to return to their country and without filing for h1bs , then see how many will come from Nepal. If you lure poors to spend their life savings then of course they get hopeful.

   You know how is it with Nepal. Folks back home take loans or invest their life savings to send their kids to USA to make their future. And it has to do with h1bs and finding jobs after graduation. And of course, anyone becomes hopeful when US graduates are welcomed to apply for h1bs if they find a company to sponsor for them. No one comes to spend 7o times more money to receive four year degree from USA. I have attended such institution and trust me, i am just being honest, it is no compare to Nepali education. Most classes were taught by TAs and professor didn't care about whether you learned or not and they were busy doing research and bringing in the money. Once they had 10 year working for STate university they didn't give any damn about anything ; their job was secure.

   bro, sorry it's turing out to be long. Most students come to USA to study and find jobs after graduation and that is becuase f1 students can apply for h1bs. Don't consulates in Nepal know that? And why should somone who spent their parents life savings in US university and worked hard for 4-6 years of his prime time , working hard and stressing about money and studies have to be in the last of the line compare to some Indian with a fake resume from India. US is the only country right now in the world who gives no sytt to it's education compare to Indian education. Aus, England, Canada they all give credit to their international students who finish school in their country. America treats you no different whether you have a degree from here or not. You are just a cheap labor and you stand with Indian in the line to sell yourself.

 

Some Nepali Students would have gone back to Nepal and help Nepal if the country's situations were stable. But right now neither parents ask the students to come Nepal nor students want to go back to Nepal because nobody knows when the Maoist is gonna blow .

Indians are taking advantages of loopholes and Nepalese students as well as other students who have degree from here are paying heavy price for this. Indians Consulantancies are making tons of money from squeezing international students here in US and  Indians back from India. The indians from india don't have problem to work in low salaries because they hardly spend money for their studies back in India as well as lots of indians students in US only come for Master degree and most of them get GA by faking their resumes at school too so they won't mind working for low salaries after finishing thier degree.  I don't hate indians but I cannot stand their attitudes. They are penny pinchers.

Have you checked the training facility of Infoysys and Wipro and also their salary structure? even in India these people are paying comparatively very high salary and in US it is among the best and they are the biggest H1 providers i think. In fact Infoysys training was labeled  better than that of Harvard university by Fortune magazine. Yes there are some companies that are pinching people but blaming Indian companies is not helping either because whatever you say they are going to stay here for a long time because almost all fortune 500 companies are dependent on them.

Just wish that Nepal will learn from this experience and do something and then wewill not have to live in USA or and dream of a good career in Nepal itself.

 

 

So sheetlab why bother going to school for 4 years and masters in some case. just join the dhoti companies for 2 months and get the job. and why is America being dumb spending millions of research money in harvard.. when there are real assets like infosys and other consultancies. please go to desicrunch. com and read the reviews of the consultancies and how they practice.
