Voting Postponed at Mahottari Polling Booth

Mahottari, April 10 - District election office postponed voting at a polling booth in Mahottari district after Nepali Congree activists clashed with CPN-UML cadres this morning.
SP Purna Singh Thapa at Mahottari district police office said that voting was postponed at Bhawanipatti ‘Ka’ polling booths in Suga VDC at 9 :30 am after clashes. According to him, police fired three rounds in air after clashes.

YCL Captures Ramechhap Booths, Polling on Hold in Chitwan

Ramechhap/Chitwan, April 10 - Maoists this morning captured seven poling booths in Ramechhap district. District police office quoting reports said that YCL men captured seven booths including Doramba, Dhoi Gaun and Pancheshwor polling booths under constituency No 2 in Ramechhap district. Maoists also captured a polling booth at Bhulke in Bhojpur district. YCl cadres also barred other party voters from visiting a polling booth at Chisapani.
In Mahottari, police fired three round in air after NC and UML cadres clashed at Suga polling centre in Mahottari district at 9: 00 am, Police said. Maoist cadres kidnapped Amar Bahadur Mahara, a polling agent of the Nepali Congress in Rolpa.
In Chitwan, voting couldn’t start till 9: 20 am in three polling centres after UML, NC and Maoist cadres clashed in Chitwan last night. District election office said that election officers was trying to start voting at polling centres in Saraswati Secondary School, Sajapur Secondary School and Janaki Secondary School at Meghauli VDC – 5 under the Constituency No 5.

Police Foil Maoist Bid to Capture Booth, Candidate Hurt in Rautahat

Rautahat, April 10 - Police foiled Maoists’ attempt to capture a polling booth in Rautahat district this morning. According to Rautahat chief district officer Durga Prasad Bhandari, police chased away a group of Maoists led by Prabhu Shah while they were attempting to capture a polling booth at Prempur Bonahi VDC under the constituency No 3. Maoist leader Devendra Patel said that party leader Prabhu Shah, who is also a candidate, sustained head injuries in police baton charge. Patel accused police of using force following a minor dispute.

Maoists Capture Booths in Gorkha, Sindhupalchowk

Gorkha, April 10 - Maoists captured a polling booth in Gorkha district where Maoist senior leader Dr Baburam Bhattarai is contesting the election under the first-past-the-post system.
District police office quoted election officials as saying that dozens of Maoist cadres captured a polling booth in Sharada Secondary School at Anpipal VDC at 10:00 am. Maoist cadres also barred other party cadres from casting votes. In Sindhupalchowk, Maoist-affiliated YCL cadres also captured all polling booths at Hagam VDC in Sindhupalchowk district under constituency no 1.

Mooists gonna win coz there's news from every where the booth is being captured........

Voting stalled in Chitwan, Mahottari, Siraha

KATHMANDU, April 10 - While the election to the Constituent Assembly (CA) is being held peacefully in the capital Thursday morning, the polls have been stalled in Chitwan, Mahottari and Siraha districts.

Voting process in the poll booth set up at Meghauli in Chitwan has been stalled.

Also in Mahottari, voting has been put off in two poll booths, while the situation is same at both two voting centre at Denawapatti of Siraha constituency-2.

Minor attacks, clashes have been reported in quite a few places.

One Killed, Two Injured in Mahottari Polling Booth Firing

Mahottari, April 10 - At least one person was killed and two others were injured when unidentified persons opened fire at a polling booth in Parsa Patauli VDC 1 of Mahottari district this morning. According to the district police office, one person died on the spot when unknown persons resorted to firing while Nepali Congress candidate Ram Chandra Tiwari was there to caste his vote. Injured persons are being rushed to local health post for treatment. The deceased has not been identified yet. District election office said voting was postponed after the incident. Large number of police personnel have launched a manhunt to nab attackers, police added
