Honestly, I appreciate her and may be her parents effort too but I didn't find it that good. Esp her facial expression and she was not too flexible whole dancing. I understand she is a kid, but yet, that doesn't help my decision.I felt like she was doing just what she was taught to.
I have seen a lots of kids these days ( esp in kathmandu and SFO- my personal experience) can't imagine how great they are in performance wise. I can't understand how they can do that but yet I have seen it personally many times and on many occasions so have to believe it. They even won in NANC competition, beting all the big headed performance.
Anyways, good try ! Yet, dont mean to discourage kid !

i dance too. i love dancing and i did start out young as well. her parents should continue to encourage her. after some yrs she will do really good. i think grace flexibility and expressions come frm alot of practice and she has many yrs to perfect that. plus i think it is gr8 to even be able to do wht she does growing up in america (i am guessing) b/c here culture is very different so she has to find a good teacher who can show her how to do some of the moves. other than that keep practicing little grl u are doing gr8!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
sampada so harsh!! she isnt in some competition she is probably dancing infront of her family members and she looks like she is 6-7 yrs old. dont compare her to some kid in nepal. just like kids in nepal cant be compared to kids who dance here. and the person who posted the video isnt even asking whether you like it or no.

ya i know yes i read ur post. whts the point of criticizing a little kid?? if she was an adult or 15-16 yrs old then it would make sense she is a little kid dancing somewhere is some small function and u r comparing her to some kid whose parents are probably professional dancers or have been learning dancing with some professional. ofcourse she wont be able to dance like that. if u dont have anything nice to say abt a little kid why even say it. i didnt say u were speaking for someone else. yes i know it is ur view and i am saying wht the point of ur view discouraging some little kid who is trying her best.

Gundaa,
Did I ever say the kids I was talking about their parents are professional dancers ? Don't pass on the suppliment information by yourself to make it easier to make the decision and then start making judgement out of it.
That doesn't really matter if you are performing infront of parents or at a function, I am talking about the dancing skill of same age kids (not 15- 16 yrs) not the audience. By the way it's suggestion for her to get better, why are you taking it in negative way ?
I don't want to say "white" if what I am looking at is "black". Thats my personal opinion, and please do respect that. I don't have anything to about your personal opinions and comments out here.
Thanks
Sampada

because kids that young cant understand criticisms. wht they need is full positive support. they dont know when ppl say negative things it is to help them.
for example look at u i am assuming u r an adult i dont like ur views, i told u and u got frustrated and argued with me. which was exactly the point i was trying to prove and i was hoping soon u would say it was to help her.
it doesn’t really help kids when ppl criticize them. it really hurts their feeling lowers their self esteem and seriously discourages them frm trying anything new.
I know ppl have said well that’s real life and it helps them get used to life etc. but I am going to have to disagree you cant hurt other people feeling, lower their confidence. if u want to say something isn’t good enough especially to a kid (and I understand it just a video in sajha u r not directly saying it to her but) then make sure u can help that person improve it.
For ex. If I were to meet some kid who was just starting to dance I would say u did gr8 then maybe I would say next time I can help u in some of ur choreography or something. How is that helping someone if u just say “I didn't find it that good” give them suggesting on how to improve don’t tell them they are not good enough
all i am saying is in real life u meet a 6-7 yr old kid please dont say anything if u dont have something positive to say. Don’t hurt their feeling. Especially kids growing up in a foreign country and trying to be bi-culture b/c a culture is only interesting if it has fun aspect associated with it and I think dancing is agr8 way to learn abt your heritage.
I am sorry I don’t really take things said online very seriously but that kid is so cute and she looks like she is really trying hard.
Anyways peace!!
