Any of you have any suggestions for diet plan for a diabetic patient? My mom was recently diagnosed and I'm running out of ideas regarding meals for her. She doesn't really like salad and can't eat a lot of meat due to teeth problems. If anyone has any knowledge, I would love to know the meal plan you guys have. Thanks.

hello Valentine,

follow this:

1) Karela (every day, better every meal)
2) Wheat flour roti (avoid maidaa)  [in the beginning, 2-3 spoon of rice during lunch is fine; roti is must though]
3) avoid red meat; no carbohydrate (1-2 pcs of potato okay to kill her thirst)
4) Avoid milk-tea; go for green tea or black tea
5) morning walk or evening walk very important
6) a bowl of daal
7) also, go with less salty food for a while
8) ...
9) ...
.
.
.
.

Cheers !

The most smartest thing would be to visit  American Diabetes Association Homepage.

http://www.diabetes.org/home.jsp
They are the authority in this field, and there are hundreds of recipes listed under  "Nutrition & Recipes" link .
