hey guys..im out of status bcoz i didnt have 12 credits. now i need to reinstate. my advisor told me that i tried to reinstate with the ins it's gonna be difficult bcoz i dont have good grades. so i must apply for a new I-20 and then leave te country to canada or mexico(i mean leave the us..go anywhere) and come back. then i would be reinstated..anyone know someone who's done this . guys i need ur opinions and advice. i'd reallly appreciate u.

there was another thread just yesterday "out of status" and had some response from santosh giri the sajha lawer. find that one.

IF ur visa is still valid then u can get new I20 , leave usa and get back easily. If ur visa has expired its really hard, Best of luck

         I know two people who did that. They still had valid vissa but went out of status due to not registrating the class. Anyways, they went out of US and came back on new I-20. So you should be fine. Good luck.

Please consult your International student adviser. You will be issued a new I-20 for the reinstatement purpose. As long you have a valid visa, you will be allowed a reentry for reinstatement.

dude i am experienced. i didnt have money to take 12 hrs so i decided to go to nepal in the middle of the semester. i had a valid visa and i applied for a new i20 from nepal. they needed my bank statement and thats it. i got my new i20 and was able to come back. not a problem.

but u need to have a valid visa though man.
