Remember, after the Gyawali and Shirohiya groups split the media mogul Kantipur's fortune , Prachanda vetoed with Mr. Kailash Shirohiya  to appoint Mr. Sudhindra Sharma, a leftist journalist who grew through Janaastha and Himal, as the editor-in-chief of the Kantipur vernacular daily although Mr. Yuvaraj Ghimire was the first choice for the position till the last moment.

The recently published sensational coup report by two factions of Nepal army  was brought out by Mr. Sudhindra Sharma under the guidance of Maoist leaders which was later claimed by them as true. This was done by Mr. Sharam to facilitate in the maoists cause of ousting the army chief. Nobody claimed this was going to be true but Maoists did.

If you read Kantipur these days, you will clearly see there Maoist biase in each of its report, scoops and features.

It may be because the Myrepublica/nagariknews sides with the democratic principles that the Kantipur group is making a delibrate switch to this left orientation.

But  it is  a 100% true that the independent Kantipur has died out and it has been taken over by Maoists. I loved Kantipur since its inception in 2046 v.s . It reached its pinnacle and became the symbol of the success of Nepali media . It stood for democracy and stood to safeguard it . I am expressing my obituary on the untimely demise of Kantipur as it seems to have been taken over by Maoists under the editorship of Mr. Sudhinda Sharma and Akhilesh Upadhyaya.  Its owner ,Mr. Shirohiya is a businessman and he has no principles but money. So, good by my dear Kantipur ! With anguish , I see you gradually  becoming  in the hold and fold of maoists. Alas, it is the saddest end of a hero !
