Strike cripples life Terai

A protest call from three Madhesi parties against the Supreme Court verdict asking Vice President Paramananda Jha to take fresh oath in Nepali has badly hit normal life in several Terai districts Sunday. Transportation services, educational institutions, industries and bazaars remain largely closed in major towns across Terai. The worst effect of the strike is seen in Siraha, Saptari, Sarlahi, Bara, Parsa, Rautahat, Mahottarai, Kapilvastu and Nawalparasi districts while the bandh has partially affected Morang, Sunsari and Rupendeshi districts. The United Madhesi Front, the joint forum of three Terai-based parties - Madhesi Janadhikar Forum, Terai Madhesh Loktantrik Party and Sadbhawana Party - called the bandh against the Supreme Court order. Traffic along the east-west highway that traverses the Terai plains has come to a halt due to the bandh. The bandh organisers organised protest rallies in several districts. In Janakpur, the protesters clashed with police. At least six persons were injured in a clash and police arrested five protesters. In Birgunj, the protesters vandalised two private vehicles for defying the bandh

VP pramendra Jha does not want to sewer in Nepali.

He wants to wear Indian dhoti suruwal and speak in Hindi.

 

 

if Mr. Jha does not like to speak nepali and wear nepali dress, he should better do "kumlo boki bharat tira" and start his political "career" there.  indians folks would greatly appreciate his love of hindi and dhoti 

He is making mockery of our system and all our leaders can do is consult with each other and come up with nothing.
First of all, Cabinet, PM and President were not supposed to request him for the oath since SC already ordered him to do so. And now SC should strip him from his post. According to reports, he is not going to resign, hence SC should not just stop him from fulfilling his duty as VP but also charge him for Contempt of Court and fire him from the post immediately.

I have no problem with Nepalese people speaking in their ethnic languages, but I do have problem when our leaders will amend the constitution allowing to take Oath in language other than Nepali. This is just unacceptable.
By taking oath in ones language, it looks like he/she is representing his/her own ethnic group and not the Citizens of Nepal as a whole.
I will not just blame khate Jha for this, GP Koirala and his Bharatiya Congress Party is equally responsible for all that's happening in our country. We have seen him speaking in hindi on his official visit to India time and again. If you cannot speak English, that's fine, but you can at least take an interpretor with our taxpayer's money.
At least Jha could came up with that idea. Being a Nepali Citizen, he dont want to take oath in Nepali, but says he will take interpretor so his Hindi Oath can be translated in Nepali.
Wake up our so called leaders and stop amending linguistic rights, there should be only one official language of Nepal "NEPALI".

And where's Maobadi? Even though I hate Maoists for what they have done to our Nation, I was hoping that they will raise voice in this controversial National issue, but seems like they are hiding under their wife's saree like all other political leaders.
