Man...these kind of questions...
Anyway, how are we to say thikai ho ki haina. I will say thikai ho and you might die in one of the deployed zones. Life in Army is really harsh but if you are not seeing any other options then this is a pretty good one.

Pilot program gives you opportunity to serve this nation by joining Army. So, if you are in some kind of specialized field like Healthcare, Engineering etc. and if you decide to go for Army, it won't take you more than a month to get a citizenship.
I do not see any problem joining and serving it. However, think about the FUTURE.
Lets analyze this, What do war Veterans do after they are done serving in Army? Spend life in Hospitals seeking treatment from PTSD, mental disorder, conversion disrder and all sort of Mental Trauma, right? Army is no more fascinating as it was before. All i can see in that field is a mere lust of a hefty sum of money jeopardizing your family and social life. No wonder a majority of homeless people that i see are war veterans.

I don't understand why there is so much blacklash towards joining the US army while there are thousands of Nepali at the Gurkha batalian in British army fighiting the same war in Afgastian and Iraq. Matter of fact US army is much better than British Gurkha, where until recently even if you spent your life (or die) fighiting for the British, they didn't gave you citizenship, treated you like second class and your salary and pension were lot lower than regular British soilder. To me it is your personal decision and something you have to think very hard. Remember unlike other job you do in life, in Army you can't just regisn and walk away.

@ bhojpure: yes u can still be recalled even after ur contract expires...Its called "STOP-LOSS" policy.there are lots of people going through this one..They signed up for 4 yrs and after completion of their 4 yr they were recalled back..and if u deny and flee then u ll be considered fugitive....its kinda messed up....

oh yeah, joining army (esp, active duty) is a big decision. if you are absent without leave (AWOL) in army, you will be entitled terrorist.
