Dyaaang!!! I am the first one to reply?? NK jyu, Always a pleasure to read the words coming out of the keyboard you use. Which keyboard do you use anyway??? Jusk kiddin' I would love to read something from you, which is focused on one topic -- i am sure everyone feels the same way. The Longer and elaborated version. I felt like each paragraph of above posting could become the topic for another posting, what do you think hazur? It seemed like you wanted to say so many things in one page of writing. Any chances of elaborating those paragraph in near future? Afterall people like me survive reading 'witty' colums written by someone like you, sitara, M.P. to name the few. Nevertheless, it was great reading. Arko choti "Times roman" font ma 5 page jati lekhi bakshiyos na... Single space, PLEASE!!! No kidding!!!

hey cool column! you beat me to it:) Really. Nice way to begin the year by looking at the past year. What a year it was too! 2002! Of course PP is right, every paragraph could be a thesis onto itself, but hey! thats the charm of a new year column, right!? You got 360 days to expound on each and every point!! Way to go NK!!

Hey thanks you two. normally i don't like to say anything to the comments on my column but... PP, tell me what topic would you like me to talk about more elaborately? I will try my best. Also, as surya pointed out a column as the name implies, should be short. It is not an essay as many "columnist" here seem to think so. It is no a Ph.D. thesis either.:)

COLUMBUS DISCOVERED AMERICA. I was talking to 4th graders and one of them retorted 'Was it lost?' 'No! I mean…he was the first one to know America.' 'But you said that people were already living there. Then how come you can say Columbus discovered America!? He was not the first to reach America. He was the first to exploit America.' I thought it's time to quit and I started teaching only grown ups! Now, It's great to learn that it was not COLUMBUS!!! NK, you write very well (offcourse, no need to say!)!! >>normally i don't like to say anything to the comments on my column but... don't do that....at least say...thank you!!

Thanks Sitara. And yes, thank you no_name. The jury is still out about the "discovery" of America. This man who wrote 1421 is convinced it was Chinese who came here before Columbus...

America is discovered everyday by citizens, immigrants, neighbors and world citizens alike. Who cares bhanya ni, Chinese hos ya setos manche or rato manche or hariyo for that matter who stepped on these soil first! Of course there were humans living here before Columbus arrived in the Americas and he was not even the first European to land in this continent! In that yeah, history as it is taught today is inaccurate. But when is history ever been accurate.... history is just the story of the winners. Propoganda! And having arrived somewhere early means little. The issue is how we treat one another, hoina ra bhanya. Why are we talking about Columbus now? ke ho ke ho

Ha ha ...i provoked enough to bring NK back in this column!! '1421' has more importance in its marketing strategy - which is key factor in success of a book besides the title (e.g. Gods of small things, arresting god in kathmandu....!), than on the contents!

Nicely said NK. San the man really gave goose bumps to all Sajhaites for a while. But, I would not label him with any negative remarks. I am thinking if I was in his place and if similar thoughts came in my mind then I would do what exactly what he did. OK, ok, got the point regarding LOOOOOOOOOONG columns. Hope other columnist also gets the point :) Good work, keep it flowing, if you get some time out of busy life..... - iti This 'noname' is defnitely our old Sajhaites in disguise. nonanme has Pretty good understanding of Sajha and grip on many important issues on Nepal. Good going 'noname'. But, I would personally urge these famous Sajhaites not to change their names so often, too much on this logical brain. Can hardly keep up with so many names. Bharkhar Ta I have started putting Names to Abstract Characters (faceless), Pheri Pheri Naya Naam? Hare!!!!!

:) Thanks Logical Sense. (who the hell are you? since you know everything about virtually everybody!!) I was thinking of the same thing. Naya burka, chehra oohi. :) noname, what is so arresting about the name 'god of small things?" So you also have heard about 1421? Did you read it? What else did they find besides some dried up 'kung pao chicken in American shore?

NK...I have not read 1421 yet. Completely drained by MISSION COMPROMISED. I wonder, did those Chinese keep eyes in America from so long? I thought that was only post-MAO development. :) There is nothing so arresting in that 'god of small things' to create such a buzz but for the word 'god'.

Wow, that's a very good complement NK, thanks :). No, not really, I don't know much about these Sajhaiites - I wish I did though.
