i am exactly in the same boat balak, but my problem seems even more complicated, besides hating science and maths, i hate programming as well, it may sound like an understatemnt but its not... so what do i like about computers?? hardware...i enojy hardware, knowing things about them, fixing them and messing them up. if anyone of you know a field of study in computer where i have to deal with more hardare part than maths, science and programming,pls let me know, i will be very very thankful...few science and maths classes are okey but programming gets into my nerves even faster than bhojpures comment
PS: i havent taken any programming class or any class that deals with computer programming here in the states, i am speaking of off the experience that i had learning QBASIC and HTML back in grade 8,9 and 10

MIS, CIS, BBIS are all the same with different names and may be little or more management classes. The difference between Computer Science and MIS can be compared with an Aeronautical engineer, and a pilot. While Aeronautical engineers build Airplanes, Pilot s fly them.
In simplest analogy the same holds true betn computer science, and MIS.
While Majoring in computer Science entails a detailed study of computer architecture, MIS and other fields embodies management courses, and computer courses.
If you want to make good money with less hassle MIS is the pathway (MIS Graduates in average earns more than Computer Science Graduates) .
If you are a real devout in the mechanics of computer, Computer Science should be your choice.
What ever you decide to do make sure you focus on one or two specific fields and specialize on that.
Another perk of being a MIS graduate is later on your career you will be managing computer engineers, computer science Graduates that’s if you have the capability since you would have acquired Management Skills as well.

@fat beast,
look for majors like computer hardware engineering, computer hardware technology or computer engineering technology...i looked up the degree plan for computer engineering technology at Univ. of Houston and theres math only up to calc. II..theres 2 physics class and only C++ programming..that might be of interest to you...i hope i helped :)

I think CIS is little more technical than MIS. I have friend who did CIS and only had to take one management course, while I know for fact in MIS the computer, and Management course are fairly divided ,so the choice is yours, but whatever you do make sure you go to a school that can provide you with more than two classes of any technical classes.
What I mean is usually college might have
2 Programming Class
1 Database Class
1 system analysis and design class
1 networking class
1 web development class
and others are usually electives
By taking the classes described above is not going to be substantial for your career path as is you already know in America education is Damn easy.
It will be good if you go to school that will focus you on one or more technology.
For instance some colleges provide certification along with your degree if not they teach more than 3-4 classes in the same technology.

My personal Opinion would be MIS, and don’t forget to specialize in one or two technology, believe me you will thank me for that, regardless of what you do(Computer Science, CIS, MIS) .....Specialization is the only way to differentiate you with others. Degree without Specialization would be like a Doctor without MD J , and we all know MBBS ko matrai kai bhau hudaina .
