Just crop your picture in a square shape and then set the 600x600 Px before you save in JPEG format. While you crop, 1/3 of the picture should contain the face. Make sure to use "photo validator" to check the picture and read the instructions. You can find this at the DV web site itself.
Any ways DV khuli sakyo ra??

Question to DV picture expert.

After editing my picture per dv standars everything looks fine.  When I check the Properties I see the following:
Size: 100KB
dimension: 600x600
Bit dept: 24
Color representation: sRGB
Compressed bits/pixel: 8

Is my picture okay per dv standars.  I noticed that on the instruction page they require 24 bits per pixel and 8-bit images will NOT be accepated.  Is Bit dept same as bits per pixal and what is 8 compressed bits/pixel on picture properties means?

Thanks.

i do understand that 600 X 600 px stuff. but when you apply the pixel change on the bottom pannel you see size in terms of inches. do we have to worry about that? in past i used to change pixel size but that didnt necessarily changed my image size in inches so i used to change that too. so at the end i make 600 X 600 px and 2 X 2 inch (2 changes).

i think this year we dont have inch constraint atleast from what i read. but i am still worried.

are there guys who have won DV and did the photo edit themselves? please share their experiences.

@jonny, not an expert here, but looks like your file size is to small. it will be around 220-250kb.

did you do it in photoshop? there is an option is photoshop that will let you set the pixel size and also size in inches. 600X 600 px and 2 in X 2 in. i tried to change both.
i dont know if that a definitive answer because i have never won a DV lottery. might wanna check with someone who has won and did it himself. or if you know someone in Espot KTM. lot of nepali win DV from there. i dont know how do they edit.

also if you are woried all about the facial percent coverage and things try using demo version of idphotospro.com.
