Ax Man, I donot know where do I start from. This Sox team have been playing .500 since the last time we were in Yankee town. The past three days have been very depressing the way they played. They can't field, even Little Leaguer would have had some of those ground balls. They can't hit in clutch. Bases loaded, nobody out, and they can't get a single run home. My beloved Nomah, dunno what's wrong with him. Darn, Tampa Bay may catch up with us. Whom to blame? My opinion, the biggest share goes to the manager. He just doesn't know how to manage. He never bunts, never hits and run, no sac flys, no steals. darn darn darn.................. The Red Sox nation is shocked to see the way this team is going. $130m team, and they play this way. Let's see if they can turn it around...............

"They can't field, even Little Leaguer would have had some of those ground balls. They can't hit in clutch. Bases loaded, nobody out, and they can't get a single run home." >>> When was the last time they had hit in a clutch situation? "My beloved Nomah, dunno what's wrong with him" >>> He doesn't want to play for your team. WE all know that. Why should he play for your team? Rem your team didnýt want him and almost traded for AROD/Ordonez??? Nomar come to Yankees you can play 2nd base. what you say? "Tampa Bay may catch up with us" >>> yup, is it coz of Don Zimmer? rem him??? and Baltimore is not far away. "Whom to blame? My opinion, the biggest share goes to the manager. He just doesn't know how to manage. He never bunts, never hits and run, no sac flys, no steals. darn darn darn.................." >>> i knew it. Red Sox fans will have some excuse. It was Little last year now Francona What else left now or is it the Bambino curse. "The Red Sox nation is shocked to see the way this team is going. $130m team, and they play this way" >>> time to raise ticket price at the most expensive park??? or the new ownership. send your GM to Yankee Land may be we can give some tips on how to run business. what's up with Pedro??? He better think next time when he pitches against Yankees else he won't get the offer from Yankees next year. We all know only Yankees can afford him. I would have been happy if Sheffield had charged Pedro. I was surprised to see Pedro not saying a word when sheffiled was cursing at him. I wonder if he thought Sheffield ain't old like Zimmer. and what you have to say about our Superstar Captain?

Ax, I understand that they are playing horrible. You needn't be that patronizing. Yah, have Nomah in 2nd, A-Rod in 3rd and have that Captain of yours in SS. A-Rod compromised, Nomah won't. TB is a good story. Always a fan of atheletes who can run, bunt and play small ball. They can't keep up. It would be really depressing if they catch up. We don't give excuses. It's just that we are knowledgable fans, and know our baseball. When you have a owner who is ready to fork out any amount of money, then the GM is just a puppet. Just a cash-man. Pedro thinks he is still good like ole time. He is no leader. He is a great pitcher, but not a leader. Enjoy the weekend. Hopefully, they will be on tracks.....

The Braves franchise originated in Boston in 1876 and remained there until moving to Milwaukee in 1953. ... The last time these two teams faced each other was in 2002, when the Braves swept a three-game series at Fenway Park. ... The Braves have won six of nine Interleague games this year. ... Since losing five straight series, the Braves have won their past two.(atlantabraves.com) May the hungrier Team win. This series sholuld be interesting. I miss golden days of Glavine, Maddux and Smoltzy.

Itýs the ALL STAR break. How does your team(s) fear so far? Texas with out AROD is the most surprising team so far this season. They lead the ultra competitive AL West. They can score runs in a hurry but does not have good pitching corps beside surprising Kenny Rogers. I do not think they can sustain the lead with their pitchers over Aýs young talented pitchers and Angels killer batting lineup. I think Angels is the team to beat in this divison. Their bench players did great job when their star players were hurt. Guillen, Valdimir and G. Anderson are formidable lineup. NL east is surprisingly competitive. I thought Phillies will have easy time to win the division. NY METS and ATLANTA BRAVES are playing great ball and FLORIDA MARLINS as always will be there. Kevin Milwood need to pitcher better and I still think Phillies will take that division. Disappointed teams in American League 1. After their promising year I thought Kansas City Royal will take the division. I was so wrong. Even after signing RBI machine Juan Gonzalez, they are pitifully in the last place with 15.5 games behind. They already shipped their all star outfielder Beltran to the Astros and will soon unload other players. Juan Gonzalez was supposed to lift the team but he has not played since May 2nd week due to strained back. 2. Baltimore Orioles is another disappointment. Owner Peter Angelos must be rethinking hard after the money he spent on to get the all star players. With the signing of J. Lopez, Tejada and Palmeiro they were suppose to compete with the almighty Yankees and Red Sox but they are sadly 17.5 games back. Sydney Ponson was supposed to be their ace but he is a big bust. He pathetically leads the major leagues in losses, hits allowed, runs allowed and earned runs allowed. First year coach Mazzilli seems to be in hot seat. Itýs sad to see his team struggling. 3. Others may disagree but I believe Boston Red Sox also belongs to this group. I really thought they will compete with Yankees this year. Many baseball pundits pick them to win the division but they are sadly 7 games back to Yankees after usual great start. History is not in their side, Yankees have never lost the division after 6 ý games lead. With their promising lineup and the addition of great pitchers in Curt Schilling, top notch closer Keith Foulke, they are still sturggling. They will have to compete hard with Aýs and Ranger just to get in as the wild card team. I have not watched that many Red Sox games. So far what I have seen is that this team does not have any chemistry at all. Coach seems to be scared with his star players. I feel for the coach. I think being the Boston red Sox coach is one of the toughest jobs with so much pressure to win over Yankees. Throwing the towel must be good idea or get the players like Clemens or Randy Johnson or they can trade the expiring contracts of Lowe, Nomar and others for the shake of competitiveness. Disappointed teams in National League 1. Houston with great batting lineup and addition of Amazing Roger ýThe Rocketý Clemens and his buddy Andy Petite supposed to be the team to beat in NL. Sadly they are 10.5 games behind St Louis Cardinals. I also thought Astros will represent the NL in the World Series, I was wrong by miles. Itýs surprising that Killer Bs with Jeff Kent are not producing runs as they used. I think they have the best 1-5 linesup with Biggio, Bagwell, Beltran, Berkman, and Kent, and they are still struggling. Petite stints in DL have hurt them and I still think they have great coaching core with Clemens, Oswalt and Wade Miller. It seems they will be unloading their players soon. Recently acquired all star Carlos Beltran seems to be the first one to be gone and surprisingly Clemens may get traded too (YANKEES??? RED SOX???) The NL Central is the toughest division in the league with Chicago Cubs and better Cincinnati Reds and Milwaukee Brewers. 2. Another disappointing team is Diamondbacks. This is the another team I chose to lead their division. They are pathetically in the last place with 18.5 games back. Acquiring all stars Richie Sexon and once great Robbie Alomar didnýt help that much. Richie Sexon is on the disable list since May 23rd. They will soon unload their high flying center fielder Steve Finely and may unload the super Randy ýBig Unitý Johnson. It was so sad to see him having altercation with Louis Gonzalez, after him dropping the regular fly ball. Big Unit may have forgotten that Gonzalez is the one who hit the blooper to win him the only ring. You baseball fans donýt miss out the ALL Star game on Tuesday. Muhammad "Greatest of Alltime" Ali will be throwing the first pitch during pregame ceremonies.

The whole nation will be watching again this weekend - The heated rivalry between NY Yankees and Boston Red Sox will be at display at Fenway Park. Yankees and Red Sox are #1 and #2 when it comes to spending and have clashed many times to acquire the high price stars - Giambi, Williams, Martinez, Ramirez, Contereas. This was supposed to be Red Sox year; Red Sox strengthened their already good pitching group by acquiring All Star Curt Schilling and Keith Foulke. While Yankees were busy adding the last year AL MVP Alex Rodriguez and Gary Sheffield in their lineup. With pretty good start of the season, Red Sox are now 8 ý games behind the almighty Yankees. There is no question Red Sox has better pitchers with awesome hitters. They have been successful doing the major things like hitting HRs and great pitching performance, but they lack in the minor things like fielding and saving the game. Their team is in disarray. Super Shortstop Nomar Garciapara, the heart and soul of the team, is having hard time at the batter box and fielding balls. He has mentioned in every trade through out the year and it has made enormous affect on him. Pedro ýthe Aceý Martinez is also not happy with the team and pulled out from the contract extension talk. He has irritated his teammates many times with his decision by not being ready to play. He has been the cancer of team on and off the field. Red Sox could have won the ALCS last year if it was not his arrogance to stay late in the game, which cost his manager's job. This guy is hard for the coach. I believe this is the last run for the team for many years to come. Many of their star players - Derek Lowe, Pedro Martinez, Jason Varitek, Nomar Garciapara and Poke Reese- are in their last year of contract and do not seem to be coming back. To make the matter worse, their RBI machine David Ortiz is suspended for 5 games for his outburst at Angels Stadium, CA. He plans to appeal the decision so he can play the series with Yankees. In April, Red Sox won 6 out of 7 games from Yankees and many speculated about the Yankees dominance. But with the Captain DJ2 leading the way, Yankees swept the Red Sox in June (3 games) It will be interesting to see how this 3 series will turn out since the Yankees starters Mussina and Brown are on the disable list. With the Yankees regular starters out, Red Sox must win the series. Yankees have different idea though, they do not want Red Sox back in the mix. They would like to sweep the series and do not want to see them during fall classic. MICHAEL MORRISSEY of NY POST thinks Boston's coffin is nearly closed. The final nail remains to be hammered referring to this series. Starting Probables: Red Sox ý Curt Schilling, Bronson Arroyo, Derek lowe Yankees ý John Lieber, Tanyon Sturtze, Jose Contereas

Very nicely written. This Red Sox team is killing me. They are not playing well at all. Is it the manger, the team or the management? It is embarassing the way they play. Hopefully, they will play good this time.

Rivalry at its best!! It was a typical series between the Yankees and the Red Sox over the weekend. They only game I got to watch was the last one and it was not that entertaining. Congratulations to Red Sox for winning the series. They needed to win the series just to be in the playoff picture and did a great job. For me thereýs nothing like Yankees beating Redsox. We have seen time and again the immature attitude of Red Sox players, be it Pedro bringing down 75 yrs old Don Zimmer or Red Sox pitching staff gunning down Yankees players. I can not comprehend myself why would they do like that. Could it be that loosing always to Yankees or the 2nd citizen treatment in the MLB. Whatever that is, it needs to be stopped from Red Sox side. I could not believe what Varitek did to AROD on Saturday. Veritekýs move was totally uncalled for. After being hit by the pitch, AROD got upset and stared at the pitcher and of course bombed few F and MF words towards Arroyo, believe me you and I would have done the same thing. It was the first time I saw AROD get into a fight and itýs nice his other side as well. Itýs nice to know he does not back out from anybody in the field. As for Jason ýThe Thugý Veritek case, I am pretty sure there was financial motive behind it. He does not have a contract after this season and could be trying to build some stock as a tough guy and he chose the wrong path. I wonýt be surprised if he gets few thousands more from this case. But this guy has to get paid for what he did. He should make sure he come with the body armor and head as well when he plays Yankees in the next game. I would suggest Yankees pitching staff to hunt his head. Yankees players! teach this guy a lesson or two so that he doesnýt mess ever again with the 252 million dollar Baseball Prince.

Wow Ax wow........I know you are a very knowledgable fan of baseball. But have a little perspective out of your Yankee world. I will be the first one to tell you that what Pedro did to Karim Garcia last year was completely wrong and uncalled for. But you cannot accuse him of throwing down a 70 year old man. Dammnit what do you do when you have a 70 year old bull charging towards you, he had to push him down. He was just acting on instinct. Now with your take on Varitek and your stupid theory (well I can say that stupid when you can call him a thug). Did you see the game or just the highlights on your Yankee TV Channel? A-ROd got hit, and he is not the first baseball player to get hit. Arroyo is one of the league leader on hits batsman. He himself said that he has to pitch inside to become effective. He doesn't have good enough stuff to keep on pitching outside, that too to a great hitting team like Yankees. Why would he hit him when we were down 3-0, and why would he put him on base when noone was out. A-Rod was the one who instigated the fight. The pitcher has to stick up for his pitcher. BTW, you and your cute- faced baseball prince...what has he done yet? Didn't Seattle win like 116 games when he left town. Isn't Texas winning big once he left them? I am sure he is a very good player. But until he has done something like take a team to championship on his own, he is just like any other player in your team or a player in Detroit Tiger's team. On other note, I hope Giambi gets well.

AX, You do see the world through Yankees lenses man. If you think what the Sox did in game 2 was so wrong, then how come ARod himself said all that is part of baseball the very next day? Also, what ARod did is only awaken a sleeping lion. This whole season has been marred with sloppy play from the Sox. It's as if they have been sleep walking. Since that game, Sox have won 3 straight and are playing with passion and grit not seen at any other time this season. As for the Big Unit, I hope he ends up with the Yanks. Because, quite frankly, without him, Sox will just kill the Yanks in ALCS. If you don't think so, just look at the Yankees starting rotation, and number of runs they have given up against Sox. Also without Johnson, I am predicting that Yankees will go through a major slump soon. This is because Yankees middle to late inning relief is spent man. Their arms are about to fall off. They have had to carry the weak starting rotation for so long, that it is only a matter of time before they give in. If you disagree with me, just watch the last couple of games. The writings on the wall already. B_D.

Boston Red Sox fans, tell me when was the last time Red Sox player was hit by a Yankees Pitcher. You don't go out plunking the players from opposite side just for no reason and even that to the best player from another side. Oh yeah it was a fluke. If you want to plunk someone it's not that hard. You guys won three in a row and you call it the team is on a roll??? I guess that's how you guys success your team no wonder you guys are happy to be in the 2nd place. Damn that team from Tampa Bays even won 11 in a row. What would you have called if you have won 11 in a row? Nothing new with the Red Sox players, they are great popping their mouth time after time, be it Pedro, Nomar. Manny or others. You must be kidding if you are thinking they will win the AL East race. You know and the whole world knows that team got no chemistry. With Good starting rotation and 2-3 batters won't bring the championship. It has not happened since 1918 and would not in our lifetime. If I were your teams' GM I would be thinking about next, how you would be competitive as many of your studs are not coming back. About the Big Unit, Of course I would love to have him. I know why you don't want him. it's coz HE DOESN'T WANT TO PLAY FOR RED SOX simple as that. HE WANTS TO OUT AS A WINNER. you and I know which that team is. I bet most of your ballplayers are wishing to play for Yankees and at least get a championship. I and most of the Yankees fans been saying from the start-go that we lack in pitching and we know team is going to get a stud like Randy Johnson. Yankees' Boss won't mind spending few more bucks unlike yours. About the pitching, I did say Red sox have best pitching rotation in the AL East and they still do. If only pitching would win the championship, Braves would have won many in Maddux-Smoltz-Glavine golden era. I am predicting that Yankees will go through a major slump soon. This is because Yankees middle to late inning relief is spent man. Their arms are about to fall off. They have had to carry the weak starting rotation for so long, that it is only a matter of time before they give in. If you disagree with me, just watch the last couple of games. The writings on the wall already. >>> Nothing wrong wishing.... Yankees are going nowhere. MO is still da best there is. BTW who closed the ALL star game this year :) He still leads the league in the save category with 1.70 ERA. And where is your super closer Keith Foulke that you brought in??? If you guys are lucky enuf we shall see in ALCS. best of Luck to your team.

Hit by Pitch: I think it's 12 by Red Sox, 11 by NYY. Not much of a difference. Noone is saying that Red Sox are on a roll. The are just slightly playing a little better game, even though their defense is still atrocious. And remember the season is not over yet. A lot of things can happen. Let's wait till the season is over to pass on the judgement. And quit harping about 1918. You sound like a broken record. We would love to have Randy Johnson here, but if he wants to go to Yankees, that's his choice. Noone can stop it from happening. Again, let's wait till he get traded. Nothing is lock. Well what about our closer? He blew couple of saves. Didn't Riviera blow the 2nd game against Red Sox. Didn't he blow the game last night? Stuff like that happen. Noone is perfect. Closers do make mistakes too. Have a good day.

I think my team Yankees did pretty good job with the situation. They traded away erratic Jose ýCuban Missileý Contreras for last year Cy Young award runner-up Esteban Loaiza. Loaiza was not pitching as he did last year but he is going to get big help form Yankees lineup. I never thought Yankees could land Randy Johnson. Yankeesý Boss and diamondbacks owner J. Colangleo donýt like each other; they have bad blood since David Wells saga few years back. I think Mussina-Brown-Vasquez-Loaiza-Lieber starting rotation is not bad, if they can stay healthy. Itýs not that great rotations like Aýs Red Sox have but with the Yankees batting lineup, they are the team to beat in AL. I donýt know what Red Sox did. I always liked Nomar and he is hustler. He gives 100% every time he is in the mound or fielding the ball. I think he is the best Short Stop as talent wise. He should command a salary less than AROD and more than DJ2 and Tejada. He is a power hitter shortstop hard to find these days. I am sure Nomar was not that thrilled having to move to Chicago, but he is in the good situation. I will have lots pitches to hit since Sosa and Alou is batting after him. He wonýt be in pressure to perform as he was in Boston. I wish him the best. He will be playing for late in the season where as Red Sox will be watching him play and regret trading him. I wish him all the best. If Nomar were to win World Series with CUBS, people would be talking about RAMON curse like BAMBINO curse long long time to come. I believe Florida Marlins were the biggest winner and LA Dodgers were the biggest losers in this year trading deadline. What were your thoughts?
