I visited Dharan and found it is the great city of Nepal by: (1) Great College and University: (a) Dharan Engineering College build by British. (b) Hatisara Science and Technology build by Russia. (c) Dharan medical College builds by India. (d) Dharan commerce, education & law campus. (2) Clean & Green city of Nepal. Dharan people are very conscious so they clean their own home or parameter of their own property by themselves. Most of them gardening infornt of their own home. Therefore, Dharan is very clean, full of flower and green. (3) Good living: Villagers bring all kind of Fresh vegetable from the hills like dhankuta, Ilam etc. Living cost is very cheap in dharan. Clean and testy spring water in public drinking water. Dharan has big hospitals, which is currently the best hospital of the Nepal.

Kalebhut, nowadays I heard they have more humans than pigs. Pigs are becoming extinct in Dharan - blame those juicy sungur momos.

What are the things to do while in Dharan? Here are some activities I can think of: 1. Take a rickshaw ride all around. See for yourself how beautiful Dharan has become. 2. Go to Bhanuchowk really early in the morning, have tea at local chiya-dokan, and enjoy the hustlebustle of bus station. 3. Take a tour of new edifices at BP Koirala Hospital complex. 4. Take a walk in the former Ghopa camp, lament at the degradation of the place after British Gurkhas left. (Note: I could barely hold back tears when I saw how ugly the camp has become due to lack of upkeep and thoughtless construction/destruction. I remember it used to be so beautiful, clean and well-managed, comparable to country clubs in the US and UK). 5. Enjoy a bike ride on well-tarred Bhote-pool Road and then the gantyang-goontoong of Putal-line. 6. While at Putali-line, take a "maathi-dekhi-tala-samma" look at Kharey Khola, just for the heck of it. 7. Right next to Kharey is Devi-mandir built by 10GR, pay your respects, if you wish. 8. Across the road from mandir is my old house... come in... say hello... have chiya-khaja... my grampa will regale you with his old WWII stories. 9. Explore the shops and eateries in and around Bhanu Chowk, continue exploring all the way to Chaata Chowk. Buy your wife, or significant other, a loongi (maiju harule lagaune jasto). You can buy all sorts of things here, pahaad bata lyaako suntala dekhi jogbani bata lyaako Indian samaan. 10. Check out "Cinderella" cafe near Bhanu Chowk. It was "the" place to hangout last year. Maybe there's a new one now. 11. Have a meetha paan at the corner store near Ganesh Taakij (tallo hall). (Note: A fellow Sajhaite friend owns that hall, maybe you want to post a request for freeentry if you want to see a movie there). 12. Go to Budho Subba one morning... pay your respects to kiraati bhagwan... enjoy the ramita... if single, ogle at other singles... check out the famous tuppo nabhayeko baas ko jhyang. 13. Go to Dakshinkali maata ko mandir and pay your respects. Check out the quaint little village sorrouding the temples. 14. If open, take a stroll through haatti-saar campus. 15. Have a picnic at Sardu khola. Be careful though, with Maoists lurking around and over-zealous police/army, you never know. 16. Take a trip up to Bhedetaar. Have lunch at one of the restaurants at the bazaar there. Have chaana-chatpate. Go up to Charles Point and enjoy the scenary... Dharan to the south... Tamor and Dhankuta to the north... and much more. If possible, crash in on a picnic, but politely. Don't rush down to Dharan, enjoy the scenary, stop to look for tiny crabs at the "chaangos", have some refreshments at the scenic restaurants on the way down. The whole trip is very enjoyable. 17. Down at Dharan, take a stroll at the purano bazaar, buy some sidra and churpi. 18. Check out the local pool halls and carom board corners. 19. If golf is your thing, play a round at the camp's green. Play/watch a soccer game at the open field near Chowki-bazaar, in the evening. 20. If you want, try out mean Dharane "tongba" with daal-bhaat and sungur ko masu with rayo ko saag. iti.

Aba sabaile ramro ramro kura matra garne baa, haina timiharuko ankhama patti badheko chha ki kya ho. Dharan is the jhoorest place in Nepal. Reasons: 1) Darjilingma pani parda Dharanka yuvaharule chhata odne garchhan. They are copy cat. They make copy everything from those Dajs. Like Amamammaam ni ho ... ... ... Rattttttan diyo ni ta ho ... ... ... Limit down garyo ni ta ho Shyangjalile ta Dharani moraharulai ... ... ... Dajsharule padhyo ki yi mora Dharaniharulai basaaune garchha. They have no there original culture. Dajs haruko g*llamuni paint fatera dulo pareko dekhe bhane yiniharule afno new paint katera g*lla muni dulo parne garchhan. Thukka mora ho. Euta original culture dekhaau ta. Dharan ppl must learn from we Westerns (Paschim Nepal). 2) Hat bazzar lagyo ki maramar katakat , haina timiharu milera basna nasakne kina ho?

So Dada Giri, you have been to Dharan??? You have already said the bad things about Dharan(Purabeli).I would love to hear about Paschimm that makes it better than Purba. As far as I know, Paschimm has the most remote places where most have never even seen a plane.Beside being very remote and under developed, the literacy rate in the West is very much lower than the East. ...Need to attend to something..

The only problem was, I didn't have money to buy the land. Don't remember much but that oralo mainroad, budha subba ko mandir and beautiful flowers and houses. hmm...

As written in Sajha's Main page. भुलचुक लिनेदिने

So what if Dharnez imitate Darjeelingeys? Dharan and Darjeeling shares some values that rest of the nation don't. People from Dharan and Darj are more open minded, liberal and very social and that is more than can be said for the rest of country. There is nothing wrong in learning from someone who you feel close to and YES Dharane and Darjeelingeys treat each other like long lost siblings. I don't see a problem here, do you? There might be a thing or two to learn from westerners (paschimey), but you all need to learn more from Dharan. Time and again, Dharan has shown the nation its fighting spirit when economy was down once British closed the Ghopa Camp and when hundreds were killed due to the earthquake. We as citizens of Dharan helped each other out, neighbors to neighbors, tols to tols, wards to wards and resurrected our lives and the city. No other city can even come close to community involvement in infrastructures and other various social and economic development, even the capital or cities which earns in millions from tourists. Dharan has stopped looking for aids from the government, which almost never materialize as far as Dharan is concerned. Dharan has its share of problems like rest of the cities but we don't shed tears about it, we deal with it.
