The Monarchy CREATED the country called Nepal. Without the Shahs, we should be part of India or China, or live as independent kingdoms with our own peoples. Was there ever a Nepali language? No.
Was there a Nepali culture? No.

Everything was after the Shah conquest. Thank Prithvi Narayan Shah for attempting to create Nepal out of hundreds of different races and culture. His experiment has failed.

Nepal is a failed state as it is now. There is too much REAL division apparent to anyone with a working eye. Saying divisions, both racial and cultural, do not exist is avoiding reality.

If you were a bhote, would you like to live with Bahuns who control most of the things? Imagine their potential if they are part of China. Since they look like Chinese, they won't be discriminated by the alien race of Bahun.

If you were a Bahun, would you like to live with angry Bhotes who man-manai want to kill you? Whenever I see a group of group of Bhotes, I don't see them as my people. We may share nationality, but their history and culture and race is too alien for me.

diversification of race, culture, cast, credential exists in every country, Every society. The love towards your own kind is immense and it decreases as it grows to the outer circle.

Take for example. If one of your neighbours quarell with somebody at your home, you take the side of your family member. If some body from another tole(nepali language) comes and quarrel to your neighbour, you take the side of your neighbour. If two villages have a football match, you support your village's team. Likewise, district and zone and region and country. when you are in America, if you see a Nepali(even if he is newar or bahun or bhote or who ever) you feel friendly. What brahman is saying is that the King is the only reason Nepal is unified, else it would break into tiny li'l kingdoms. He has a point, you know.

Now if you use reasonings like "Prithvi Narayan Shah unified Nepal", I personally believe that you shouldn't be anti-monarchy in the first place.

A country that has too many ethnic groups cannot function viably. This is a fact of life. The only exception seems to be the United States of America. I'll give a few examples:

1. India: Just too many ethnic groups in India. Christians in the NE region of India are looking to separate, while Tamils feel the same way. Muslims are tired of Hindu hegemony, and dalits are tired of upper-caste domination, and North Indians are tired of South Indians and vice versa.

2. Afghanistan: Again, there are way too many ethinc groups, but at least they got only three primary ethnicities: Hazaras, Pashtun and Tajik. The rest of the pop. are just insignificant. So the power-play is between the three groups.

3. Yugoslavia: Well, as somebody pointed out, there's no Yugoslavia anymore. They call it Serbia and Montenegro these days. Those Croats still hate the guts out of Serbs

4. Iraq: Same problem, but still there seems to be three dominant groups: Shiahs, Sunnis and Kurds. So the problem isn't as great as in India
5.Former USSR: Too many regions wanted to separated, so they imploded in the end

6. Nepal: Now, Nepal is a very special case. Truthfully, there doesn't seem to be one dominant group in Nepal. Sure, the bahuns and Chettris combined make up the majority, but still, the total of the two groups is somewhere in the 30% range. Then we have groups like Gurung, Tamang, Sherpa, Newars, Madhesis and what not, which exacerbates the problem hundredfold.

So I don't really see Nepal doing so well in the future, unless there is communism.

I don't support communism per se, but Nepal's only path is breaking up year-old hegemony. If everybody's mixed up, there'll be no ethnic problem.

So there are three options:
1. King to keep Nepal intact
2. A dictator in style of Saddam Hussein
3. Break up the nation.

Else, Nepal has no hope.

Sure, it's not a very PC thing to say, but ethnic CLEANSING is a must. If we don't want to head this road, breaking up could be a GOOD IDEA.
