Can't believe the season is starting soon!!! Knicks news: Knicks are finalizing the trade for Chicago Bull Center, Eddie Curry and Antonio Davis with Sweetney, Tim Thomas and few throw-ins, including 1st round draft pick. Curry missed his last 13 games because of heart condition, but he is worth the risk, specially since most of the cardiologists have given him a clean bill of health. There finally is something worth following up now. Knicks are a complete team, just lacking a little defensive push. I am not saying they are a championship team, but they are young and heading in the right direction. Where are the ballers??

DWI, I am waiting for the season to start. Of course, the Knicks are better team now with the addition of Coach Brown. I hope he will take the Knicks to next level. Q. Richardson is another good addition even though we lost Kurt Thomas. I always like A.Davis. He's a good rebounder plus used to be a good shot blocker... I don't know where he's up to these days. I remember the rival between Camby n Davis he was in the Knicks. So, what's the status of Houston? Is he better now? These days, I haven't been following NBA news...

With the signing of Curry, I bet they must be over the salary cup till 2009 now :) A. Davis is a god rebounder and shot blocker??? Rusty bro wake up.... This is 2005 not 1995 :p les hear what ya all gotta say about NBA Champions Spurs. They have added veteran players like Axel and Finley to already great roster ;)

>> "A. Davis is a god rebounder and shot blocker??? Rusty bro wake up.... This is 2005 not 1995 :p " Of course he still takes rebounds and this is 2005-06 season. A 37 year old man taking almost 6 rebounds is not bad. Yes, he doesn't block shots anymore. Does that make you feel better? Spurs added veteran players like Axel and Finley to already great roster ;) >> I don't think adding vetern players help that team to be a champianship team. If that was the case, then Mavs would have been the champian long ago. I confess Spurs were true champians last year with a team effort. This year, the team chemistry maynot mingle properly. I thought they were good without adding any of those new veterns. They were really shaken up by the Pistons outstanding games. Thank to Horry... He stepped up to save the Spurs. Manu has already proved that he can't play in critical situation. He really showed his game in the first couple of games, then kind of quiet down. A champian player cannot be like that. I hope he will be even better this year. In fact, I am fed up with the Knicks, who I used to support. Now, I may be neutral....

Rusty and AX, Good to see the Knicks enthusiasts back!!!! By the way regardless of how A. Davis plays, I believe Knicks plan to waive him off and Bulls will resign him as F.A. This team sure looks young and athletic: J. Crawford, Starbury, Curry, Ariza, Nate Robinson, Q. Richardson!!!

22 homeward-bound Bhutanese refugees arrested Bhutanese police on Tuesday afternoon arrested twenty-two Bhutanese refugees of five families living in Beldangi camp in Damak from Phuntsoling after they crossed the India-Bhutan border on their own, in an attempt to return home from Nepal, reports said on Wednesday. Of 22 arrested refugees, 16 were later handed over to the Indian police, while the condition of the remaining six refugees is not known. The refugees were returning home under the Volunteer Homeland Return and National Reconciliation Programme, under the banner of Bhutan Gorkha National Liberation Front (BGNLF) and Bhutan Human Rights Organisation (BHRO), the reports said. Issuing a press statement Tuesday, the Chairman of BGNLF, Tara Mukarung protested the arrest of the refugees and warned that the Bhutan government would be entirely responsible for any dire consequences, if the refugees resort to any alterative ways in response to humiliations perpetrated on them. The refugees had made similar attempts to return home in the past as well and the Indian police had deliberately stopped them at the Mechi bridge by arresting them, the report added. The office of the United Nations High Commission for Refugees has been warning that the voluntary return process involves risk. Refugees from the Timai refugee camp, who organised a Satyagraha four days ago, have also announced they would return to their homeland soon. nepalnews.com pb Oct 05 05

I will say MIAMI Heat SHall be the Pre-Season Favorite To win it all. As we all know Shaq and Wade got injured here and there in the post-season. Well, Shaq is Shaq. But I think they are going to be much better with the addition of all the GOOD players. Oh. Antowaine Walker also joined the bunch. :) Did they get jOhnson from Phoneix??? or did Johnson go somewhere else ?? Hey AX you are right man, the SPurs have done some great job by adding those vetran guys. I see the top 5 in this order :) 1. Miami Heat. (Shaq got more help + Wade and Haslem can only get better) 2. San Antonio SPurs. (TD-parker-Ginobli that's the CORE they had prserved) 3. Indiana Pacers. (I know loss of Miller is huge but this CLUb lacks no TAlent) 4. Detroit Pistons. (The Defensive teams are always good) 5. Rockets - Nuggets (Ah... that's a tie ) GO CEltics Go Jai Nepal

So A common consensus is that Spurs is the West leader and Heat is the East leader. I beg to differ on Eastern scenario, just coz I think Shaq will be less productive because of his age and the fact that Artest is coming out bigger and wilder. My ranking: 1. Spurs 2. Pacers 3. Heat 4. Pistons 5. Nets / Rockets. It would be interesting to see this ranking at the end of the season.

If any of you want to witness a sports journalism at its best, please read the following column by an award winning sports writer, Scoop Jackson, my all time favourite: - http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=jackson/051011 Also, I am joining this NBA league at work. I was wondering if anybody from Sajha is interested in creating our own NBA FANTASY league (cbs, espn whatever). It would be fun, trust me, we can discuss stuff in Sajha and play the game in the league site. Who is in?
