The first gift of magh 19 was curbing on telephone and mobile lines bringing headlines in newspapers as nepal being cut off from the rest of world. This was a record break. We need democracy to ensure that

1. Out telephone or mobile lines are never cut off.

2. We don't need to bear any more load sheddings.

3. We could spend more to solve drinking water problems in the country and many other development projects than keeping the parasite and suckers and their whole company alive and to pay for their visits to africa or even inside the country.

< a target=new href="http://www.sajha.com/sajha/html/OpenThread.cfm?forum=2&ThreadID=27685#214482">sajha

Some other deeds are

4. Putting more censorship on media. Another Moron Rana is in headline today in nepalnews saying that the new media censorship is in progressmedia

5. Banning any kind of protest or demonstration - curbing people's right of speech.

6. Censorship on internet sites leading Nepal to get awarded as 'Enemy of internet'.

7. Nepal being listed as top country with highest cases of human rights violation and media censorship this year.

8. Restricting activities of NGO, major partner for development

9. Banning news on FM stations
The gov. did not even allow to buy new equipment to replace the problems from old equipment of Nepal FM that let it to shut down completely. The gov. just don't care.

10. Reforming the education policies and changing the text to preach in favor of slavery

11. Banning people's right of movement by putting tougher laws on foreign education.

12. Tandab Nritya (Devil dance) of Police and Soldiers
example
Danab Rajya

13. Offering an assistance of Rs. 1 Crore to his rich sister and giving Rs. 50,000 to poor nepali singer and actor (First Hero of Nepal) -> This was done by Mr. Deuba

14. Appointing crooks like Attorney General as Mr. Ojha as supreme court judge just because any steps or gestures from KG should be made as new ordinance to our constitution as he is the hindu king (he means we should follow hinduism rather than our constitution; must be inspired from taliban)

15. Making super hit of drama of election.

16.Nagarkot Massacre (any similarity with royal massacre?)

17.Royal Censorship

18.Nepal - Enemy of Internet

Please think before supporting any kind of autocratic gov.

Arewe waiting for this?

Moron Kamal Thapa went to vote from helicopter flewn over from ktm; who paid for that? Needless to say that the burden of king's visit to foreign country, the RNAC flights being cancelled; cut off the funding from development projects to pay for his trips to villages; destroying visitor's guest houses just to build luxurious rest room for his one night visit has all over been in newspapers.

I wonder if Sajha is keeping tabs of people who log in and post at Kurakani. I further wonder if Nepali Government can/has put pressure on the moderator/administrator to acquire that information. If that is the case, I wonder the posters here who have been critical of monarchy are at risk of being harmed by Nepal Government in any shape or form, if not abroad, maybe when they go to Nepal. What do you guys think?

Chatmandude,

I am basing my view after reading few of your comments in several post.

You sound as a Gyane's chamcha here to spy on what is going on sajha and threaten democratic republic demanders with possible consequences.

Chatmandude, why don't u be brave (if not coward) enough to say that you don't tolerate the antiking statements, and you want to harm them or to see them being harmed not only verbally but also physically? Is that your point?

We've seen verbal assaults all the time from king supporters; and now here comes another one.

What is Democracy? Its an academic phenomenon. Was Nepal able to handle democracy when it was so easily granted by Birendra back then? You cannot change people's mentality very easily. Have you been to Nepal recently? It is so backward. Nepal needs to compromise on something so that the violence can end. Thats all it has to do right now and take things on a day to day basis

Woah! Woah!! Woah!!! Easy there, fellas. Where is all this venom coming from? If anything at all, I lean more towards your republican ideals than Mandale-tantra.

Having said that, the question I have posed is still a valid one. With Chinese Government using Yahoo and MSN (possibly Google too) to track down the dissident internet users and locking them up for years, one certainly has to be concerned about similar action that Nepalese Government could possibly take. Now whether that is actually possible or not is a question you have to ask San. Dictatorship ko haat laamo huncha. There is no clear demarcation of ethics and free speech in totalitarian regime.

As for my political thoughts, I am of the opinion that monarchy as is is anachronistic institution that serves very little if any purpose in today's Nepal. While an ideal Jeffersonian Republic, with current players, is difficult (note, I said difficult, not impossible) to realize, I would say even at its lesser form, it is preferable over status quo. At least with republic, if we do not like the government, we can give it a boot. At least with republic, your children and my children can be the president. At least with republic, the sovereignty resides with people. At least with republic, accountability goes all the way to the top and everybody is under the rule of law. Not so with monarchy in all four counts. So there, for what it is worth in this public anonymous wikiboard, that's my view out in the open, lest you surmise otherwise.

Your response above is probably instigated by my call for proper validation before believing everything said in the other thread about the royal jwai. King's son-in-law could be a devil incarnate, but again he might just be another flawed Nepali. Who is to say? Sure people have opinion of him. And some of the allegations are probably true. As I said, there can be no smoke without fire. But, I, as a reader, have no way to validate those claims. Some have said why don't I contact the guy and ask for his UC Berkeley degree. C'mon, do you seriously think that I can/will do that? And even if I do, do you really think he will meekly acquiesce to my demand? The burden of proof comes with the claim, and unless those two are together, it is what it is, just a gossip. And I stand by what I say.

And to messrs gwajyo and prajatantra, do you mind reading my other postings before you lable me as chamcha of Gyanendra? Because, sirs, I respectfully beg to differ.

People did not get along when WE DID HAVE DEMOCRACY. WHAT MAKES YOU THINK THEY WILL GET ALONG ONCE THEY HAVE THE POWER AGAIN ? WHAT DID 8 YRS OF DEMOCRACY BRING TO NEPAL ? NOTHING BUT DEATH AND DESTRUCTION. What GUARANTEE IS THERE THAT THEY WILL GET ALONG AGAIN ?

THE KING IS FULL OF SHIT ! HE HAS DONE NOTHING FOR A YR. And these so called republic supporters are not any better. They wanted to open a discussion group in Google for LIKE MINDED PEOPLE ONLY. Kinda like GEorge Bush saying either you are with us or against us.

So far all I have seen is OPPERTUNISTS TRYING TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE SITUATION RATHER THAN THINKING ABOUT THE BETTERMENT OF THE COUNTRY.
SO FUG ALL YOU MOFO'S.

"Banning any kind of protest or demonstration - curbing people's right of speech. "
this should have been done long time ago. peaceful protest is fine.
but houde protest it should be banned all together. every time there is protest public property is destroyed.

Chatmandude,

My appology for mis-reading your comment. I just got confuse with the tone of comment.

I do not think sajha will turn the use data to Nepalese government and I do not think they are obliged to do so. Cause the site is hosted in server located at US and is outside judicial boundry of Nepal. I do not thing anyone is at risk, given they do not plan to harm US.

Chinese case was different becuase Yahoo/Google server were inside chinese judicial, more than that chinese goverment is strong enough to shutdown their business in china and blocking them for access to billions of user.

I do not think Sajha falls in Nepalese goverment's judicial region and also nepalese government has strong enough tie with US government to act for them in matter like this.

If you saw the NEWS yesterday it showed how did senate comitee grilled Google's, Microsoft's and Yahoo's managment team.

But, since Sajha reserves the right, if San wants they can willingly turn in the data. Does any one have idea about who runs Sajha is it personal or organization owned? Here is their disclaimer:
SAJHA.COM reserves the right at all times to disclose any information as necessary to satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process or governmental request, or to edit, refuse to post or to remove or deny access to any information or materials, in whole or in part, for any reason whatsoever, in SAJHA.COM's sole discretion.

Achcamma ta we need democracy every 15 years. ahh!!! That hurts. Me thinks we must find a genuine way to sustain the democracy before we actually ask for it. Flashback to 1990, eh, the scar still remains. Forget about the scar, the wound hasn't healed yet. ha.
