Dear friends,

We have just released the DVD "Nepalese in USA" after a long anticipation. It highlights the series of events that took place during the 23rd ANA Convention in Dallas in July 2005. It consists of glimpses of Cultural Program, Concert, Forums, Expo & Stalls, DJ Nite, Sport Events, Kids Camp and much more.

First of its kind, the DVD is a must see for people who attended the Convention in Dallas while for others the charm lies in its reality TVlike appeal. It's a collectible that one can relate to for years to come.

The DVD is priced at USD 15.00 and is available online at www.nepalisite.com.

We hope that you will encourage us to work in more projects by purchasing our DVD and promoting it with the word of mouth.

Gratefully yours,
JPS Productions.

$15 seems way to expensive !! Unless the video and editing was done by professonals

Dharara, i am open to constructive criticism. i would be grateful if you mentioned which part u liked n which u did not. a little appreciation would be encouraging.

i_nepali,as far as the price is concerned i dont think $15.00 for an original DVD is way too much whereas music CD goes for more than $10.00 apiece. well i acknowledge that the dvd was not made by professionals in which case the cost would be more than $50,000.00 however significant investment was made by the promoters as an experiment. Above all, we dont have a huge Nepalese Clientele which dictates the pricing.

Moreover, working with video is very time consuming. .Thousands of combined hours were put in by our crew during the editing phase to make the DVD devoid of flaw. We had a little problem with audio in a few clips which we have tried to cover with background music. And the video and audio would be a little out of sync in the fourth quarter during the DVD assembly(burning) phase which we could not fix. Might have been software restriction coz we were running on the limits.

Other than that the DVD is pretty decent. Nice interviews. Some witty. Some opinionated. Forums are enticing. Cultural program is nicely captured-- perhaps the most interesting part. DJ party is fun to watch.

Most importantly, we are trying to raise interest in this field since it's the least lucrative job for us Nepalese people. Hence your support would be precious.

Cowboy...
You have done a great job trying to put this together! But $15 is way to expensive for something like this. You can make it 5 bucks and you will get three fold interested people to buy it to give it a shot..that is the truth of nepalese....$15 DVD ma kharcha garnu bhanda type ko sochai huncha nepali ko..too bad you couldn't think that way. I would suggest to lower the price to 5 bucks and I will be one of your first buyer....This is your first take on this subject...You have spent money we understand but we also understand that people fighting, drinking, smoking ciggerate on stage is no way worth $15 bucks that is the hardcore truth! Get it down to $5 bucks and those very things will be worth watching for. Do you have website? Some shots of the movie? Paypal setup for taking the order? A good marketing strategy will go a long way plus will make the product a lot more attractive too!
Cheers and have a great weekend

Revival, I would have taken your advice seriously if you had gone thru the thread carefully before rushing to make suggestions.
It says more info can be found at www.nepalisite.com.

Did you go there? Did you check out the trailer? I dont think so.
So please do a little research on your part before making hasty suggestions.
Will save a lot of trouble n time.
People will really start listening to you.

Thanks anyways.

We should sure appreciate the time and the effort the producers of this DVD have put to make this happen. Having said that, personally, I think the price is a bit higher. Seems like "Cowboy" got offended by constructive criticism from revival, so I won't tell him to do this or that.....Good job bro, but, sorry, my $15 bucks are going to Pranav Dhakal fund over this DVD ! Cheers !

If you were a shrewd marketer and believed in your product, you would post short clips in the web to advertise. Then, if it looks good, then we might buy the DVD.

I watched that DVD. It was poor dubbing and unnecessary clips. You missed School reunion, Art exhibition, poetry competition and other events. It could be done better than that. I think $15 is too much for that.

cowboy..
Good effort.
I think $15 is fine. Don't you guys spend that much on drinks and other stuff?
Why can't you support Nepali? Thats why Nepalese is backward and always talking about others.
Look at Indians whom you all hate...that hatred doesn't do a shit to them.

If you hear Lata or any popular Indian singer coming then you will go and see them by paying heft ticket price but when your own artist from Nepal comes here then you will hesitate to go and worry about your money.

Isn't that same Indian people you hate....

By the way cowboy the address you wrote is wrong.
there should not ne a "." it should be
nepalisite.com

Anyways guys and gals try to support. I also understand that you have rights to raise your concerns. And cowboy try not take crticisim in a negative way.

Thank you.

Dharara. we were not a 20 person crew and we did not have five professional cameras to capture everything. if it were like that the expense for the video capturing alone would be more than $25,000. We were just three guys with one camera try to capture the best of ANA Convention. Moreover, it was our first time. However, we have portrayed the Cultural Show, Sports, Stalls, School Reunions, Concert, DJ Parties and Banquet in detail. Its a 100 min documentary.

Johnny. we had permission from concerned authority to capture the events in video. Most of the events we have captured are public events. We did not barge into someone elses rooms. In some places we were invited. Personal interviews were conducted with the person's consent only.

Now one thing i would like to tell you Johnny is I feel sorry for your mother for begetting a pathetic son like you who vents frustrations of inability to accomplish anything in your life by demeaning other person's work. Dude u just care about yourself. U dont worry about fellow nepalese. You are just like an animal "Pashu".
You must love your lifestyle. Hey even a pig thinks its life is heavenly. U know why. Coz it knows no better. Limited Horizons. Get out of the Box.

I gave my opinion because I bought your DVD.I thought you want to know about what other peoples think about that. If you guys can't digest your criticism then doesn’t ask for others opinion and also I thought you guys are mature enough to use mother in this kind of little things. That was my personal opinion and I am sorry if you are offended. If you are happy to hear only good things then

1) This is the best DVD I have ever seen.
2) Every body should buy this DVD
3) You guys did a good job
4) This DVD worth more than $50.00
5) ---------------------------------
6) any body wants to add more…please continue …only good things …..please not bad comments…

Dharara, u get what u ask for. Johnny was asking for that. You were trying to be a little realistic on your second post. Hence I tried to explain what the case was. I apologize if i had an offensive tone.
But then again, u are swaying away now.
I welcome any realistic review. I will try to answer your questions to my fullest knowledge.

BCoffee, our intention was not to make money out of it. Our purpose was to bring that convention to people homes who unfortunately do not have the luxury to be there. To make the event more popular.
Monetarywise, if we break even, we are highly satisfied. We might even do the next one more professionally. You would not believe how many hours we have invested in this process. So forget about the money thing.
In case we make profit, we will definitely donate for a good cause.
