World wide web has made it easy for everyone to become a hard core democracy figher from the warm or cool comforts of their own rooms.

These freedom fighters have so much energy to spend writing strong statements and showing dissent with those with conflicting views from their own. The energy they show is so strong that they could topple any government.

But there is a gnawing question in all this. IF THESE SO CALLED VIRTUAL FREEDOM FIGHTERS WERE TO BE IN NEPAL RIGHT NOW, WOULD THEY BE OUT IN THE STREET RISKING THEIR LIFES IN THE STREETS OR WOULD THEY BE INVOLVED IN CLOSE DOOR POLITICS - FAR AWAY FROM THE STREETS AND FAR AWAY FROM THE LINE OF FIRE?

तँ राजाबादी होस् भन्ने त हामीलाई लागेकै हो, तर अब चाहिँ कन्फर्म नै गरिस्।

तँ गधा चाहिँ कहाँ बसेर राजाको समर्थन गर्दै छस् नि? नेपालको सडकमा मुरली बजाउँदै हो?

अब रह्यो म नेपालमा भएको भए के गर्थे भन्ने कुरा। सानै भए पनि ४६ सालमा आन्दोलनमा सहभागी भएकै हो। यस्पाली चाहिँ साँच्चिनै कुरा बुझेर सडकमा हुने थिएँ।

माओबादीले देश कब्जा गर्लान भन्ने डर छ भने बहुदलिय लोकतन्त्रको समर्थन गर् जाँठा! ज्ञानेले जति लामो समयसम्म देश चलाउँछ, उति धेरै माओबादी बढ्दै जाने छन।

माओबादी, ज्ञाने, गिरिजा, देउवा, माकुने सबैलाई एकै चिहान पार्नु पर्छ। देश नयाँ ढंगले नया नेताले चलाउनु पर्छ।

Oh great Mr. Chakku without whose participation the current movement would not even have started, let alone reach it's current stage. Oh great one, how well you know everything and how well versed you are. Even the ten mouths of the lord would not be able to sing songs of praise for you.

I am not a freedom fighter. I am just a normal Nepali person who is trying to make his ends meet. Trying to make sure there is food on the table for my family. The bandhs have made it impossible for many people like me to work so I have time to write in the net. I don't care for this so called democracy movement. All three top parties concerned - 7 Parties, The King and the Maoist all are same dyang ko mula.

All I fight for is that the voice of common ordinary Nepali be heard. Who just wants to make a living. Feed his 2 year old daughter who doesn't have anything to eat. Get some medical care for family members who need it. Who is as far from politics as can be. Firsty because these kind of movements have never yielded any positive outcomes if one looks at history. Especially because the so called leaders are the same. Only times have changed. The common person suffers more as this agitation increases.

That's all for now before the darn electricity gets cut off for load shedding - unlike at the warm/cool rooms of the freedom fighters who have nothing to fear or lose except feel good about themselves from half way around the world. Away from the point of conflict.. away from the scarcity of food and fuel.

Chakku the problem with the people in the streets is that they have mentality like you. Anyone who practices freedom of speech by saying what they feel they call them names and wants to shut them out if they don't agree.

I really like your views. There are people who cannot understand or do not understand different opinion then their own. These types of people are the prime reason why Nepal is in a rut. ok, let me describe your type too. you're from that group which've always benefitted and will continue to benefit regardless of the system that is in place in the country. you'll go against any kind of street protests because that directly disrupts your daily activities and your personal life.

why would you want to change anything when everything's working out well for you anyway? otherwise why would you go against peoples' aspirations of establishing a total democracy in the country where poor people will have the greatest chance of their voice being heard by the government and things done for their benefit?

But in ur last post, u are speaking just like the Maoists, just like the hard-liner communists speak all over the world... why we need democracy when people dont have food to eat. Prachanda will be happy with u.
