LETS START BUTCHERING COWS AT KOILARA'S RESIDENCE. NEPAL IS NOT ANYMORE THE HINDU NATION. SO, NOW WE SHOULD START BUTCHERING COWS INSTEAD OF GOATS SINCE IT WOULD BE CHEAPER FOR THE MASSES TO EAT BEEF THAN GOAT.

Relax people. Do you realize how many people would survive to see another day were the cows allowed to be slaughtered for the purposes of consumption? There are hundreds of thousands of Nepalis who are malnutritioned, and slaughtering those cows(look, here's the deal--it's not like those cows are treated like they're divine anyway--the last time I was in Nepal, I saw cows that were left to wander around freely. Is that how you treat cows? I also saw people treating them quite brutally) may work wonders on their health. Let's think from a humanitarian perspective. Being a Hindu, I do not eat cows myself, but I don't understand the reason why we need to deny non-Hindus the right to eat cows. Will that have any effects on you as a Hindu? Just follow your religion and let other people lead their lives the way they desire. 10 holidays at maximum. Shutting down everything for a month for Dashai/Tihar is just not very productive for a developing nation like Nepal.

If they are malnutritioned...we have enough land, why not the Govt create an atmosphere where we can grow more crops, get better fertilizers rather than buying cheap fertilizers so they can earn commissions....C'mon man....there are lot other ways malnutrition can be solved...

I don't mean to say Cows should not be consumed...Muslims consume it....Hell, if a Hindu person wants it, I have nothing against it...but, your premise of feeding Cow meat to eradicate malnutrition seems a little illogical.....

Why deny non-Hindus the right to eat beef? I'm a Hindu(atheist Hindu), and I assume so are you. I don't eat beef, and I hope you do the same. But there are hundreds of thousands out there for whom eating beef is not really a problem. Let them eat beef. It does not bother me.

It is a sad state for all of us Nepalses who do not have any vested interest in SPA or Maoists. Yes today is a sad state for all of the patriotic Nepalese.

So what's wrong with eating a cow if you really want to? Just don't do it at a Hindu's aagan or temple.

Can someone be Jewish and yet be an atheist? Hinduism has many philosophies out there: atheism has always been a part of it. Look, I come from a Hindu bahun family, but I say let people choose the way they want to lead their lives. Why should we impose on people whose philosophy/religion may be different from yours and mine? Declaring Nepal a secular state just makes us all a bit more equal. Will we solve all social/political/religious/economic problems? Hell no, we have a loooong road ahead of us, but we are moving in the right direction. Let people slaughter cows if they so desire, but don't do it in my backyard!

Dude , cow is not the problem .india has been republic for so long and still their are so many religious riots and thousand of life are lost in vain. well may be u don't want cow to be butchered in ur house how about this there are already people is sajha with great ideas of opening butcher shops infront of Pashupati in private land.Guess what's gonna happen then. atheism is part of hinduism. adiguru shankaracharya however through logic and debate sweeped all the existing atheist philosophies of his time. and all the atheist of that time became his followers/

it is rather childish to argue what is hinduism and what is not. Everything is hinduism and nothing is hinduism infact even the name hinduism is non existent in any scriptures.

Hinduism doesn't say you cannot eat beef. it doesn't say you cannot kill cow. it categorizes everything into three qualities as you may know:
1. satvic:
qualities of daya maya paropakar. for food it is something that is easy to digest, healthy, aromatic and gives pleasant feelings, coolness and peace to the atman.

2. rajasic:
these are qualities like: jealousy, pride, greed, gluttony and too much involvement in pleasure to the senses. food involves too spicy, oily that gives you heartburn and digestion problems.

3. tamasic:
this is worst quality like: killing, hurting others, sadism etc food involves stale and rotton food unpleasant smelling etc


through out our life these qualities fluctuates. only yogis and sadhus are in steady state conditions.

Time and again we have read in a newspaper that some maoist have killed the cows in nepal and ate their meat. Now they can enjoy cows meat as killing cow cannot be considered as crime. I guess new decsion has been made to make them happy.

now nepal will be like india. extremist religious groups will flourish. branch of shiva sena will open in every town. i know that there r gonna be members in all parts of the country. there will be religious riots (which was unheard of in nepal till now). some party like the bharatiya janata party will also open in nepal. this is sad but true. just wait n watch.

Chakku , now it will be more active. thats it. People do get sentimental with their religious beliefs though they may not hate other religion but if somebody does against their belief .There will be consequences .We are not living in utopia.
