Just so you all know, Sachindra Nepal, the cab driver who was arrested for raping an 18-year-old girl in Ocean City, Maryland, was found guilty on ALL 5 accounts of rape and sexual assault yesterday in court. He is now in a State prison and will be deported back to Nepal as soon as possible as part of his sentence.

And to all of you who thought the "ocean city sluts" were to blame for this matter, well, let's thank God that the jury did NOT agree with you.

The article was posted here a few months ago, right after the rape when he was arrested. Sachindra Nepal was charged with 5 counts of rape and sexual assault against an intoxicated 18-year-old passenger he drove to a hotel in Ocean city this past July. After the rape he left her in a hotel room in her own vomit. DNA verified and convicted him. My brother knows the girl who was raped and was involved in the trial. As far as I know, he will be in federal prison here for a year before he is deported back to Nepal and imprisoned there. I posted this because there was a large thread a few months back on this board regarding his arrest and charges. Although I know most of you don't feel this way, there were many comments left about how American girls in ocean city are "sluts" as if that should excuse the fact that Sachindra took advantage of an ill, intoxicated girl. The American justice system is blind to prejudice, and convict on facts. I know this girl and her family, and clearly the jury was fully convinced of his guilt.

this is one thing crazy about american system. if the girl is drinking and drunk and she and u have sex willingly. the next day she can say rape and u can go to jail for that.

Jennalinne I agree with you. Mr Nepal got what he deserved in this case. But please don't make the blanket statements and insult our intelligence.

And the most famous case --- OJ Simpson would be behind bars ... so so toot the American horn needless!! In this man's case, the verdict might have been just..but it is a very important question to the judiciary system, When a girl is drunk and she has sex with a guy would that always be a rape?

Many guys goto a bar to pick up a girl. If they end up having sex that night, which is a very possible scenario, what limits a girl's prerogative to accuse the guy of rape? She could be drunk and still wanting sex and next day realize it was a mistake....or even worse, she doesn't like the guy and plots this whole thing.

A guy had been recently convicted of the same. He was a little drunk himself, but the girl claimed she was drunk unconscious (although she did walk to his bedroom) while having sex. The guy is waiting for his trial.

Anyone can tell from reading your thread that you are an American, and not Nepali.
The story we heard about that night was quite different from what you have told us here in this thread. We were told that the girl was drunk, and she had no money to pay for the taxi-cab. She offered sex to the guy for taxi-fare. Yeah, that guy made a mistake sleeping with the girl. He was not familiar with the rules over here. Had he know that the girl will condemn him of rape the next morning, he wouldn't have done this.
You are being sentimental, because that girl was your friend or relative. Sachindra made a mistake, but he got more punishment than he deserves- he was deported, he and his parents lost their reputation, and the guy lost his future. It's the fault of an underage girl to get drunk, and be irresponsible. Can you tell me if she is getting any punishment for all this? she is responsible to some extent.

He got what he deserved, most probably he did or may be he did not, I don't know. Things could have been much different if he was a white US citizen, had lots of money and had hired a good lawer.
