Today, playing against Getafe, Messi proved again why he is called the New Maradona. God, he's just 19.

He's only played under 55 first class games in his entire lift and he's already hailed to be the NEXT MARADONA. He won Fifa's young player of the year while he had only played less than 35 games for Barca!!!! Had he not been injured last season and this season, he'd have been competing with Ronaldo for Fifa's World player of the year award! Let's hail Messi , the LEGEND in the making! MY MESSI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MY LEGEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MY LUV = ARGENTINA!!!!

CrystalCracker, that was a shitty game coz the game featured all the Argentine players based on South America. Messi, Tevez, Saviola, Aguero, Gago, Higuian, Cambiasso, Zanetti, Ayala, Cruz, Mascherano,Coloccini, Luis Gonzalez, Maxi Rodriguez, Diego Milito, Delassandro, Pablo Aimar all play in Europe and hence nobody featured. And oh, Riquelme has retired from International football if you didnt know.

Freaking weird... Soccer-Chile hold Argentina to goalless draw Thu Apr 19, 2007 4:40AM BST Email This Article | Print This Article | RSS [-] Text [+] MENDOZA, Argentina, April 18 (Reuters) - Argentina were held to a 0-0 draw by neighbours Chile on Wednesday in their first home match since last year's World Cup. Both teams fielded experimental lineups of home-based players in front of a 60,000 crowd at the Malvinas Argentinas stadium in Mendoza, at the foot of the Andes separating the two countries. Argentina, whose players had only a handful of caps between them, started promisingly with Jonathan Bottinelli hitting the crossbar and Jose Sosa, Daniel Montenegro and Fernando Belluschi also going close. Chile playmaker Jorge Valdivia had a shot deflected wide as the visitors began to look menacing before halftime. Argentina goalkeeper Juan Carrizo was called into action to block a shot from teenager Alexis Sanchez. In the second half, Belluschi struck the post for Argentina from a rebound after Daniel Diaz's free kick was parried by Miguel Pinto, and Mariano Pavone squandered another chance for the hosts. Both teams had late chances from free kicks but Leonardo Ponzio fired over the bar for Argentina and Valdivia's effort for Chile was comfortably I found it.....but shocked that it's not on any of the big football news sites......I had heard rumors abt the game....but hmmm the timing of the schedule is freaking weird indeed.

Nice...But Maradona's level is still a distant dream. Messi's goal in the clip above may arguably be the best for this decade but Maradona's second goal against England (1986 world cup quarter-finals) is undisputedly the finest moment in all of professional sports period!

Lionel Messi had an offer to play for Spain where he spent most of his youth life. However, he preferred to wait for an opportunity to play for his birth-country, Argentina; hence, by registering his names next to legends such as, Maradona, Batistuta, and mighty Crespo. Having already been recognized as one of the best midfielders in the world, the 19-years old stunning Leo is a dynamic striker himself. Soccer gurus still argue on Peckerman’s wrong decision to bring Julio Cruz as a Hernan Crespo substitute in World Cup quarterfinal against Germany. Had Peckerman sent Leo as Hernan’s substitute, Argentina might have created more chances to avoid the early exit from the World Cup. It is always a previlage to watch Leo play, not to mention with the surroundings of Ronaldhino, ‘Eto, Deco and Xavi.
