Newah Organization of America (NOA) is organizing its Sixth Annual Convention and General meeting in Virginia, Metropolitan Washington, this coming Memorial Day Holidays, May 26, 2006, Saturday.

We would like to invite all members of the community, friends and well-wishers to come and participate at this Convention, and spend some quality time with friend, family, and compatriots.

Your support is crucial for the success of the Event!

Chief guest Head of Mission Nepal embassy H.E. Kali Prasad Pokharel and the Keynote address will be delivered by Mr. Padma Ratna Tuladhar, President of Mankaa Khalaa, and prominent Human right Activist of Nepal.

Thank you... this is great function.. I heard that no bahun leaders/activists were invited by USA's some american studies institution or forum. Those american foru/institution understood that bahun leaders are the ones spoiling Nepal. Padam Ratna Tuladhar and other matwali leaders only were invited. That's why Padam R Tuladhar could participate in this newah sammelan.

Be there, Xena. I'm going there as well. :) Regardless of the program’s outcome, Newari food itself worth spending an evening out in the convention.

Although I’m not a Newar, I was on this convention couple of years back when it was held at VA. I don’t see it as a racist organization but it was organized badly. We had to pay $20 each for the convention that included dinner along with local home made newari liquor. When our turn came for dinner they ran out of almost everything and the local newari liquor they promised turned out to be vodka. Beside it the place itself was really messy. Hopefully they will do better this time.
