Guys ANA 07 sports are knock out not a league.

Paying $250/$400 for registration. Coming all the from uk & east coast. Not really fair. If you lost first game u go home. ANA sports committee should think about this.

Leave it guys, there is no point... its better this way, more exciting for us fans... that way no one will be tanking games... everyone will be playing real hard

does not sound fair to the players ...i think they should change it back to league system. Players practice a lot for this tourney in hopes of winning it all and the organizers place this bull shit knockout system.. i mean common you didn't practice all that time and spent all that money just so you go home after losing a game

its not like they have a week to have all the games...
they have a few options.. all of which are unreasonable and unfair...
1. shorten the games - its going to suck if the games are like 20 mins long
2. have more games - players are going to be exhausted
just let the current decision stay, it will be more exciting for the fans... and you know how it goes, only the strong survive... so if u r not in to win it, then you go home.. but if u are in to win the title, then you dont have to worry about elimination.

sleepyspurs it won't be fun for fans as well I think.

Not sure how they will organize the match (tie –sheet) but if on first round 1st best team vs 2nd best team. It could be big lost for fans & Final would be boring.

oh common man...even the best team that spent months to prepare might lose and get eliminated which i don't think is fair in anyway...adjustment to the game and the mounting pressure etc might just make any good team lose it's first game...they should at least get a second chance to get back in the tourney...

Well, if its the best team, there is nothing to worry about... there are no second chances in life, so dont worry, it ll be fine... think of it this way, the best teams will not have to waste their times beating up on the weaker teams continuously... for fans like me, its better to watch more competitive games as opposed to the heavy weights continuously hammering the weaker ones by 30-40 points... where is the fun in that... and lets say there is an upset where a weak team some how beats the heavily favored team, then it makes things more interesting and unpredictable

i beg to differ in this matter sleepy...as a basketball player i know how tough it is on the players to not get that second chance to get back in the game but hey it's just my opinion...someone should have a poll on this issue and see how many people agree or disagree to this system

Lurey, I hear what you are saying and I respect your opinion. I dont play much, at this age, I do more watching and commenting than picking the ball up. But what I am saying is, if every player knows that its sudden death and no second chance, maybe they will play their hearts out.

Anyway, thats pretty much how it has been. The winners move on and then the loser with the highest point also qualifies. On second thought, it might not be a bad idea, after all, these tournaments are made more for spirit and participation, not just winning.

Paying $450 for registration and traveling all across america, even atlantic for one hour does not sound fun atall to me...... If ANA knows what they are doing ?????.....they can always do first round league and kock out . I am pretty sure there wont be more then 12 teams ...and three days should be enough for 15 games......Namaskar!!!

Soccerfan, are you serious about the field? wtf??? I'd rather stick to playing basket-ball instead then. Damn, why charge that much money for regitration when they're gonna make us play in the size of someone's backyard. Someone seriously needs to Rip these Jackers...

According to college spokeman:--There are 3 fields in college, One of them they use for college football which they won't rent to anyone and 2 rest fields are for baseball or other smaller sports activities. No soccer field for sure.....I will dig into this more.

Soccerfan,

How do you know that the ANA soccer tournament will be held at El Camino college?.
if that's the case, might not worth to travel.

Last year's field was awesome. This year's field shall not be less than this.

This is good soccer field, you won't get there in LA. I guarantee it. Call ANA host officials.
