I want you guys out there to share some extraordinary knowledge that you have with the ordinary people like meh who wants to learn more every single day....

I would like people to come up with new things . It doesn't have to written in any books or whateva . It can be formulated by you and ur philoshopy which other people will fine interesting and this will help you urself and other ordinary people ...

I hope you guys out there who are genious and extra-ordinary will take some time and help people know something different from this thread regardless to the other threads...

I know every new thread comes up with something new but I want to make this thread only thread where people can come up with new things that's up to their knowledge that's not in the reach of other people so that the people who aren't able to get to that point or that view will get it through a great people like you

People without knowledge can have a success, but it may not last a long, and they can not gracefully exit to normal dignified life or switch to another goal for success.

Example: Nepali Political Leaders. They never retire, and at the age of 60 years they call themselves young generation in country where average life expectancy is below 60 years. if happens because of lack of knowledge. They could never define their success.

Communists have only half knowledge, that is why no one retires in communism or in communist party. American political think tanks have made a rule that you must retire upon completion of second term in Presidency, because of position the President's position can get corrupt in third term, and they laid a graceful exit strategy.

Because of graceful exit: Reagon, Carter, Father Bush, Clinton, Bliar, Thatcher, and partly our K. P. Bhattarai are still regarded. Graceful exit, while you are on top of success, I consider it as the double success, and it can happen with only knowledgable people.

Knowledge ! what a powerful concept to be a success, be it at individual level or institutional/organizational level.

At individual level, there are 5 bases of power according to a popular classification -coercive (punishment), reward, legitimite, referent, and expert. One drives the expert power from his/her expertise based on the tacit knowledge. Unlike other four, this is something that is not negotiable based on a person's position/status in society or organization. Around the world ( and in the US), foreign immigrants are provided working permit based solely upon this that demonstrates the importance of knowledge that shapes key government policies.

At organizational level, as businesses move into the hypercompetitive environment, the pressure to innovate (else evaporate), stay competitive (and profitable), and be a global leader requires careful exploration and exploitation of knowledge base that resides in individuals, team, and at organizational level. Agility, adaptability (survival of the fittest - Darwinism), and change is a continuous emphasis of large, dominating corporate houses. As the saying goes, we live in knowledge ( or information ) economy. Where K-mart failed and Wal-Mart strives is a classical example of how timely, complete, and reliable information is operationalized in the value chain for superior business performance. The plethora of sophisticated databases, ERP solutions, CRMs, Data mining, business intelligence etc are all rooted to the knowledge based view of firm. Which unlike the resource based view of firm, relies on harnessing knowledge to gain distinct competency in the industry. Unlike other physical and organizational resources, usage of knowledge resources do not lead to its depletion or depreciation, on the contrary it leads to further refinement and growth. Knowledge has the 4 key characteristics identified by the resource based view of firm in strategic literatures to identify a particular organizational resource as core competency. Knowledge is 1. Valuable, 2. Unique, 3. Inimitable, and 4. Complex in its organization.

According to the Bhagvad Gita: Smart is one who combines Effort with Knowledge. Therefore we see a continuous effort on empasizing work integration with knowledge integration in most of the world class businesses, societies etc.

Once you cross a critical "mass" of knowledge, then you will start seeing the explosion of outcomes/ successes. That is why which university you go matters, which advisor you chose matters, which network you join matters. Which discussion forum you join matters. and Which topic you select matters. For all these "knowledge" matters.

I think the old saying: Knowledge is power was good until 20th century. In democratic world, where power dissipates to people in the form of electoral vote, the conventional power "POWER" is very vague. I am having hard to think what is power? My grandfather certainly was more powerful in my family tree of 5 dozen people: son, daughter, daughter-in-laws, son-in-laws, .. grandkids. He was very powerful because we had to obey his orders, when he used to ask us to study, we had to study: shouting ... but today here in usa, can you ask your kid to this or that? Nope. Are you powerful? Yes, you are? But, how? The definition of power yesterday was ruling someone, ordering someone, forcing someone to do something, because people were afraid of force. Today, classic definition of power that relates power to Force is confined in the book of Physics: Power = Force x velocity.

I think in democratic world of 21st century, Power should be defined in different way. You are powerful if you are knowledgable in the field, and you can use your knowledge not to force someone to do something, but you use your knowledge based power to colloborate, coordinate, cooperate, and establish a partnership to produce results: the success. Classic definition of Power was related to "Force", and velocity "motion", but today the force should be partitioned to "intertia" and acceleration (last year you had $10 profit, and this year if you are having the same $10 profit, you will be fired: you must acclerate the profit).

The power in democracy has three components: "Intertia:resistance to motion", "acceleration", "motion:velocity": and they are judged on you how well you can have cooperation, coordination, collaboration, and partnership in business to get success. That happens at home, at community, at society, in profession, in workplace. In addition to these charactersitics values, you will need to earn trust, establish faith, and be truthful.

When Cleveland, a 47 year old lawyer from ohio got landslide success in just 3 years in 188x, he became candidate for US President, and his opponents wanted to dig his dirt, then Democratic party colleagues recommended him to lie, but he relied on truthfulness, and told the true story, and became the president of US, and he is the only president who won the election twice with a gap in between. Today, as you see in us politics too, Ted Kennedy had trouble when he was 19 years old while a student at Harvard, and his father reached to public told the truth and cleared the fog.

Today's power comes from the factors outlined above. But, make sure that right time, right place, and in front right people. Girija told YCL as Young Criminal league to YCL, but lost credibility because he missed opportunity, and told the truth but at wrong time, and at wrong mass. He missed similar opportunity in 2046, when he told that it is win for all, and in fact, what he said was true: in inclusive democracy the 2046 was win for all, but he was booed.

The knowledge of using guns is definately a power.
