Australia's market for professional jobs is no different than that of the modern economy; employers look for:

+above average grade
+well-rounded
+good inerpersonal skills
+right skills for the job
+good communicator in English (verbal+written)
+neat in apperance

The same can be said for the North American or the European job market. That said, the corporate employers really don't care if you're of Nepalese heritage, Norwegian or African. All you need is some evidence that you've got talent potential.

I've worked both in North America and now here for some years, and from what I've seen- they're both equally competitive in terms of pay package for new graduates. There is a also the looming question of ease in applying for residency in Australia as opposed to the US, but that you can research elsewhere.

Australia's economy is even smaller than indias economy. i dont know how many jobs australia has. they dont have big market like US or Europe. that means less jobs and those jobs are also filled with Australian. so dont know what is the oppertunity comparision to US or Europe. but it is true that its nowhere to US coz even texas has more jobs and bigger economy than Australia.

Well! I don't agree with niravana75062. Big market doesn't always mean more opportunities. Even if its economy is smaller than India's, there are 21 million in Australia. Compare that with people in India. Therefore, at some fields Australia has more scope than US.

However, the biggest challenge with Australian degree is that it somehow limits you to Australia. US companies don't give a flyin *#^% about degrees from outside US (MOSTLY!) so if you want to end up in Australia then it is a good idea otherwise it screws you over.

major matter is vision not the opportunities..... Australia has the clear vision so that every people can get the opportunities.

amazing bro, new york has 2nd biggest economy than California. and look at the jobs out there. bigger population means bigger market and bigger economy. which means more jobs. so australia comes nowhere near US or any other European country in terms of opportunity for Immigrant. I am not saying Australian Economy is bad, matter fact its one of the best.. comes in top 20 in the world. so may be it is good for Australian who were born there but not for immigrants.
