I am sure it's not just me against the unreliable phone cards. I would not have posted this earlier, until recently when I was betrayed to the extreme by the phone cards sold at Himtel.com. i bought a $ 2 card and dialed Nepal. it didn't get through the first time. i tried again, this time the balance is down to $ 1 & 30 cents. this has happened at least a dozen times now. (i am sure many are suggesting me to switch over; i am gonna do that but i also wanna spread this news. the money i lost is enough guinea pig experience on himtel. please no body else lose some more hard earned $$$ at himtel.) Enough is enough. And the best thing is that himtel doesn't take accountability for those cards sold exclusively in their website. my point is why on earth do you sell something that you can't be responsible for. i called their customer service, but they put the blame on the respective cards and try to walk away from the problem. Please note they don't walk away when they earn good commission $$$ by selling those cards in their website. instead the customer service guy suggests me to buy only himtel card not any other card listed on their website. funny huh. PEOPLE HAVE YOUR SAY.

I have faced the same problem, and that is not only with himtel cards ... tomato tel, and any of the "sadaki" cards you get in convenient stores ... so does that mean, i should start up a thread saying lets bankrupt all these phone card companies ?? .. talk rational dude ! about himtel, well i have had some experiences like mentioned here but more times than not i have had a great service from himtel ... so lets not bankrupt himtel .. hahaha

hey freak alien, i am as rational as you or maybe even more. the reason i put "lets bankrupt himtel phone cards" is because i wanted some attention, which i got; in many more times than i expected. you are one of the example, so thnx bro. with so much attention n replies, my motive is done. no complains. and about really bankrupting the company, thats just a figure of speech. let me say this for the last time, READ BETWEEN THE F@@@ING LINES.

but isn't that true with every other $2 cards out there? I have shoped around and whenever I buy cards from other sites for $2, it's always a pain in the neck to call nepal. I have never had any issues calling thailand with the same $2 cards but calling nepal is always pain in the neck. It's like the stars have to align perfectly for the call to go thru. But, the $5 cards and $10 cards from Himtel always give exactly the same minutes as they advertise. I am not trying to defend himtel but I think you get what u pay for. :) If you guys find a $2 cards that works like a charm, please do let us know.......cause I do also like to pay less and get more minutes.

same problem for me. I believe the reason could be VOIP service in Nepal. VOIP service is Illegal in Nepal. i am just guessing that the phone card we use business partners are small companies in Nepal. NTC are giving hard time to these small companies. I appreciate if someone can find which companies deal with Mercantile so we won't have to start new thread regarding phone calls to Nepal.

anti-himtel cards, First of all dude, you are stupid in blaming himtel as I have had that experience with most of the cheap cards. You should be rational to shop for cards without any fees. On the other hand, most of the cards are good for a single call. If somehow you get disconnected, you lose a lot of balance. This is the policy of the card companies, not the resellers. I have been using SDI cards for a while but again, the problem is the same. So, don't question the credibility of a firm from your one experience. And, the customer service guy is right in asking you to buy their cards. Then, he has to be responsible for his cards and he is willing to take that responsibility. Read all the disclaimers in the website before accusing them. They have said that they are not responsible for external cards but you preferred a cheap one....you are too cheap dude!!!lol So, my friend, read everything before you blame....

Anti Himtel, First of all like Bibas said hemendra has clearly stated that he is not responsible for any other card. You need to call the customer service number that he has provided on your e.mail for any questions regarding loss of minute or not getting connected. But if its his recgargeable cards then Hemendra will be responsible. He should reembrus for the loss minutes. But if you trying to buy cheap cards then thats your fault and don;t blame hemendra. Just because of your stupidity Hemendra will NOT go bankrupt..... Are you getting paid by other card owners to spread bad image about Himtel. OR do you own one of those calling card business and is jealous about Himtel? Good Luck in choosing Better card for cheaper prices

AntiHimtelCard bro, I have been Himtel’s customer since 1999. There are some ups and downs with their resell cards (no doubt about that). As most of the people said, you get what you pay for. Try their rechargeable cards and you will experience the best service you can get around here. Hemendra has stated very clearly in his website that he is not responsible for those cheap cards. Please go thru the website again. Quit bitching. The bottom line: Cheap azz cards = Cheap azz quality Rechargeable/Himtel cards (expensive but reasonable) = Good Quality

Ax,"Gotta follow the Indians to reach the dreamland." Hard working Nepali people are capable of their own dreamland. NO NEED TO FOLLOW INDIANS OR ANYONE ELSE.

I agree with Punte Damai, I have been using Himtel since 1998. Overall, I got reliable service and the price was fair. In many cases, I was even reimbursed the value. That’s my experience. DB

i think HIMTEL is good.. its like Hotel Soaltee or Radisson of phone cards to nepal.. 5 star quality for 5 star price ofcourse.. unless u buy their cheaper cards.. but if u buy cheap u will get cheap service.. so next time but the more expensive card that costs 38 cents a min.
