I understand that Bob. But they cannot also say "in the name of the Nepali community", can they? They did not do any consensus building or anything like that. They could have said "We here at NYN Times approve Hillary Clinton and request all the eligible Nepalese to cast their vote in her favor". They did not do a proper thing by declaring themselves to be the voice of our community.

I dont think NYN Times has anything to do with that appeal, and its up to the voters whom do they want to vote for....anybody.....anything..goore, kale, a libertarian, a mormon.

 

To look at Hillary vs Obama, i would like to see the contest in the interest of larger Nepali community (Nepali citizens, Nepali passport holders, first generation migrants from Nepal), and if i will be considering interest of the populace i come from i would favor Hillary even though i see candidature of Obama with real sense if the Americans want to hit big time.

 

Obama, who had an Indian roommate during his college years, has been witnessed making strong anti Pakistani rhetoric. So the question arises here does he support India somewhere? Is he inclined towards India? If so, extending support for anything that would boost India up will be a mistake from our side. Also, we cannot forget no matter what kind of impression Hillary has for Nepal, it is still a country she has been once with her daughter, and i do not want to believe Hillary as president of USA would be seeing off a country she had been at one point of her life. So, i don’t think she would act merely as spectator if sovereignty of Nepal will be at stake albeit its a fact that big nations crave their interest first and at any cost. Still...

I respect your opinion. We can have different views and vote for different people. I just felt uncomfortable when NYN times gave a blanket support to Hillary in the name of every Nepali.
