It would not be that unjustified if he'd chosen to take oath in his mother tongue, Maithali or whatever. The corrupt guy who had no problems wearing daura suruwal all his life as a judge, while he could earn money from corruption, now tries to make fun of the whole country by taking oath as the Vice president of the country in a foreign language just to show how loyal he is to the southern neighbour. Shame on all Nepalis that we've elected such a crap.

Yeah , thats why I want you all to contribute with your input in this thread.  Remember few years ago it would have been impossible to speak Hindi in Nepali parliament, but now VP is taking oath in hindi. Yes its a slow and unstoppable advance if we dont do anything now. 

I am not in favour of sealing the mouth of hindi speakers but more in favour of creating the environment where people are encouraged to speak in  Nepali and the national languages.  

Yo ati bayo..... Nepal ko VP bayera hindi ma sworn in... the clue is in F****** name....

I completely fail to understand the mentality of our so called Madhesi leaders. There should be freedom in the choice of language, but the choice should be justifiable in some way. This freedom should be used to promote the use of national languages but not to promote some foreign language whose use is resented by many others. Though Nepali is also a minority language now, but history has made it a common language and almost all Nepali people understand it.

 If the Madhesi leaders do not understand it in time and continue with their ridiculous anti-Nepali pose, they will surely invite more trouble to themselves. If a person who has been elected as the Vice President fails to show his common sense, then it's time we start exposing such communal fools.

Shame shame.... How can you elect a person who does not speak Nepali to run our country. For those who say it DOES NOT matter, why not Tom, Dick or Harry instead? At least we CAN expect Tom to be more honest, will definitely be better than the VP. Last time I checked Jha speak Maithali, and NOT Hindi. This matter should be investigated and prosecuted right away.

It is very importnat to enforce laws of Nepal not only just to citizens but to these STOOPID LEADERS as well. Just like US congress and senate takes oath only in English, Indian Parliament in Hindi(regardless whether you are Tamil, Gujrati, Bihari, Mizo etc etc. IT WAS A FAILURE OF OUR GOVERNMENT TO IMPLIMENT ITS LAW ON THIS PARTICULAR EVENT.

Guys,what's wrong with our fellowmen spirit? The country's President & VP are now dhotis.Over here in US,  I see nepalese gals running after dhotis and Indian restaurants full of nepalese workers. I wonder when this "Dhotimania" will stop...

Taking oath in Hindi is not acceptable. We are Nepali. We have our National language. Every politician must speak in Nepali and wear Nepali Dress. If s/he doesn't want that then s/he is not qualified tobe a leader. Nepal is a country full of diversity. It doesn't belong to one ethnic group.Almost every ethnic group has its own language. That doesn't mean s/he can take oath in their ethnic language to work for high ranking public post. This is not acceptable at anymeans. This VP guy must apologize for Nepali people otherwise he must leave the post ASP. Nepal is not just Madeshis' Desh. If fact majority of people are non Madeshi.If s/he doesn't feel proud to wear Nepali Dress and speak in Nepali language in Singha Darbaar, s/he has no rights to represent all Nepalese.
