As the saying goes "Men give love to get sex and women give sex to get love". Or something like that. So love for sex and sex for love - there you go. ;) A generalization no doubt but an interesting one nonetheless.

Though captain's interpretation is right in its own ways, it could be interpreted in another way:

'Women need love to 'give,' or have sex while men need sex to feel being loved.' The difference is subtle in the sense that both want the 'love' but men can't feel being love until there is sex, while a woman won't have sex until she feels she's loved.
Thus, ultimately what this means is that a guy needs to convince a women that she is in love, so that he can have sex and then this will lead him being in love with her. Of course, when both are in love, the sex never stops. And yes, this is a generalization.

love is not for sex but there is "something" in all of us -- male and female(not generalizing, mind you! :P)-- which desires for sex and that "something" is directly proportional (keeps increasing till INFINITY )to time you spend with your partner, if you're female and inversely proportional to it (keeps decreasing until it's zero or even negative), if you're male :D few months later, you get outta "illusion" and realize you both gotta move on HAHAHAHA:D and the vicious cycle continues...:P (snippet from Looterian (as opposed to shakespearian) Romeo and Juliet :P)

Actually....excepting the western world and neo-phirangiites in south asia, 'marrying is a price a man pays for sex and sex is a price woman pays to remain married'. I heard that somewhere, cannot recall now.

They go "hand in hand". It really doesn't matter how you say it - "Love for Sex" or "Sex for Love". It's liek saying in Nepali-"Kalay Kami ya Kami Kalay". There were few interesting thoughts from you folks. From where I see is, and Few Conclusions I came here are as follows --

1. The presence of one without the existence of other is incomplete or rather say irrelevant.

2. They equals to eachother. ie. Sex = Love or vice versa.

3. One is directly propertional to other. ( except in few many cases).

4. The ratio should be in a balance state for well normal functioning of the systems.

5. Increament in one for long period of time brings discomfort in the systems.

6. Finally, There is a "Proportional Constant called "B" ( balance) which shifts automatically to either one to make the total balanace equals.

Also, there are few more findings

1. Women enjoys sex more than Men, while Men enjoys Love more than Women.

2. Men remains active in Sex for long time than Women, While Women remains active in Love for long time than Man

3.Both Love and Sex can be used as a tools to overcome frustration  and depression.

My heart says the only poster that got it right is- TheBatMAN. Small “l” works better.

Love for love, sex for sex.

No, it’s not an idealism. It is a realism. Assuming that a fake love is not a love, it is really what really happens in everybody’s (male and female) minds.

If we invest a genuine love, we expect a genuine love in return. If we invest a genuine sex (a fake love included), we know that we can not complain for not getting a genuine love and getting only sex or getting a fake love.

I think your statement is self-contradictory, Nepe. How is it a genuine love when you expect nothing-sort-of-a perfect reciprocation for your feelings, something so abstract. That tells me, its not genuine to begin with.

Scientifically, Sex and Love and linked. When you see the linkage map, the genes that expresses love and sex are within the same locus or very close to each other. So, during the time of recombination or chiasma formation in meiosis they do not segregate and cannot go independent assortment. Hence, they are expressed together.

Guest4-jyu,

Perhaps the confusion is on your part. You probably confused “genuine” with “ideal”. By “genuine love”, I do not mean an “ideal love” at all. I simply meant an un-fake love in its natural raw form, let’s say, one our cave-dwelling ancestors passed to us (unadulterated and un-conditioned by social and political norms, kya).

Natural love is selfish. That is why unreciprocated or rejected love always makes us unhappy.

Only the saints who have overcome (or pretend to have overcome ) that natural limit  are unaffected by the unreciprocated or rejected love. Everybody else are affected, it hurts them.

So coming to my point, yes, a genuine lover expects a genuine love in return. An ideal lover might not, but a genuine but un-ideal loves certainly does.

And before we potentially get confused more, here is a helpful classification of love based on how its three components- passion, intimacy and commitment – flare.

Like batman says.. love is for love and sex is for sex there is no in between, no wonder you can't keep track of your GF dude, looks like your love reflects only sex, you love her for the free sex she gives to you  and she has realized that,
that is why she is straying away....

and concentrate on your school and studies, you might just fail all your classes if you keep thinking about your GF all the time..

my 2 cents Hommie
