Being in USA does not mean that we have to forget where we belongs? i have seen so many people (Nepali) who treat Nepali like a piece of crap. they do not see, which track led them to success; they make fun of that position when they have to talk about it. They never taught those who need advice to do better but try to pull their legs. Among friend also same shit, they will use you but when they are supposed to help they run. i do not understand why are we proud to be Nepal when we do not care for our Nepalese brother sisters and friends in this [Disallowed String for - bad word]ing selfish world.Being a president of Nepali community they forget they are Nepali i dont know what you all think about it.

the main problem is:
Nepali guys lack a personality and right attitude and most of them have no goals and suffer everyday in life...

This is not a new thing. Nepalese are same everywhere. How much help did you expect and receive even if you were in Nepal? I bet, you were helped only because the person helping you knew that your dad is a "big shot" or was obliged to help. Rather, i believe Nepalese in US do help each other. They might not do so for another Nepali; but let me tell ya, they DO for everyone other than a Nepali. We know our own behavior and we relate the same with another Nepali.
Unless we can change ourselves and get that attitude out of us, there is nothing we can do.

It's your naivity to expect help from others. When you help someone, don't expect a guaranteed help from him. If you do and you don't receive help back and you're bitter and you come here on Sajha to complain, I say it's your fault. Just don't complain. Move on. Get on with your life.

I have no problem with Nepalese People talking to me in English!!! I don't see anything wrong with that. The Problem is when People start Pre-judging you by your looks. I go to this 7-11 every Friday or Saturday and get a 24 Pack for me and Boys as We Chill drinking beer or Playing Poker or PS3. The other day I heard this Nepali Old dude say to his other Nepali Co-worker, " Kasto Jadya Nepali ho yo keta, 24 Pack beer kincha, tyo Paisa ta Nepal Pathauda nai huncha ni." I don't know what the fk is wrong with this old man? I am not drinkin' tht 24 pack by myself and even if I did, Its my beer. You can't be called alcoholic for buying a 24 pack. If I was a white dude, he would not are at all.

Mustainekofan or watever your ID is,
At least learn from those people at 7-11. They said what they thought and they are right. They work their a$$ off to save up some money and send back home for the family, and it bothers them when they see you buying a 24 pack. I believe they wished they had your beer money to add up to their saving A/C.
And, whats up with all the Poker, PS3 and drinking beer? What you are trying to prove here is your more "americanized" and want to communicate with a Nepali in English cuz your ashamed of your Nepali Descent?
I would feel humiliated too if a Nepali knowing that i am Nepali, comes to me and talks in English. It has happened to me before and let me tell ya, i am not interested in any social relationship with those kinds of biatch.

Dude, You are saying We can't play PS3's and Poker. Really dude? Really? So if you drive a car, use freaking toilet paper and so on, you are Americanized?? WTF dude? Taking Shower daily makes you American too? Get a Life Hey Listen, I Drink beer and I pay for it and I don't need your comment or suggestion. The way I spend my weekend is my business and don't give me tht bullcraaap Americanized thing. I have Nepalese frens and I am proud to be a Nepalese. It should not matter if someone talks to you in English or Nepalese unless they look down to you. I have had so many Nepalese friends and We spoke in English since we were in Middle School thru High School and College.Low Life

Advice to MustaineKoFAN: Talk to the 7-11 Nepali clerks in Nepali. Talk in a way where you are making fun of yourself and praising them of all the money they are making. After a few days, make a deal with them. For a 30 pack ($25), you only pay $15 under the table. You are happy. They are happy. Everybody is happy. Then go home and play Poker and PS3.

Nam cahi AMERICAN and scared of ppl who speak in english....what an irony
what wrong with speaking in english with nepali ppl...whats there to feel "humiliated"?? jsut think of it from the subway girls point...why should she make an unreasonalbe accomodation for u and ask you " dai kun chain pauroti ma tapai ko subway banai diu dai....and pyaaz....khursani ..and kun chai massu halne? lol and then draw unwanted attention at her workplace .......
i dont know why nepalese complain about othes speaking in English as long as the point is across...whats wrong in that....I hate it when ppl talk in nepali when there is a room full of ppl with other nationality...its rude..
And ya i pity ppl who feel that they are entitled of all the help/ love respect and attention from everyone in the world....why the feeling of entitlement? ppl tend to run away from whiny needy ppl...friends dont always have to rescue you to prove that they are your friends

ha ha ha !! This shit is fonni, wtf you mean in USA ? Nepalis do this to other Nepalis in Nepal all the fugging time. And its is no different here in the US. What you need to do is accept the fact that WE the Nepali people are like that regaadless where you go or how educated you are. Just take a good look at the people who post in Sajha...he he that speaks for itself.

This is ridiculous! 1st off! THERE IS NO STEREOTYPE OF WHAT A NEPALI SHOULD BE OR ACT LIKE. damnit!
If you are going to be all over my face why I didnt send money to nepal, you better move the f**k out of my way. (good point mustainefan). If your old man is in trouble, work double shift and try to bail him out. If he is NOT, buy a 24 pack and chill!
2nd, I was at a Hindi Store trying to buy some khasi ko masu. There were a bunch of Nepalis there. (I am new to the area) I see them, give them a friendly smile and a nod, and move on. No. It wasn't enough for them (3 30+yr old guys and 2 women). They had to profile me and my gf. "Nepali jasto cha" "hera kt ghumayera". I understand that it is interesting to meet new nepali people, but dont go with a preconcieved notion of what he/she is going to be like.
There are wide 'assortment' of people here. From those who've been slogging it for the past 25 years, to 'fresh off the boat' youngsters in college, to dv parne families. Many have different backgrounds and experiences that shape their outlook. I dont have anything against people who live with their families and ONLY with their families, but please dont judge others based on the norms of the nepali 'saamaj' back home! This does NOT apply here. There are people amongst us who live by themselves and actually have a more diverse and open lifestyle than yours!
The truth: Nepali people have evolved.
Peace.

I totally agree with Pixie. Work and work and no matter who come and goes you should speak in the language that everyone understands. By speaking some other language it will draw attention to yourself and it can be embarassing for some people.
