week 12 results...... what you guys say about Butch Davis and Ty Willingham??? Ty to Washington Huskies??? How about Butch Davis to Florida Gators??? Suprrier vs Davis??? I am surprised regarding TY getting fired by Notre Dame only into his 3rd season. I don't think univ game him enough time?... I believe the reason he was fired was that they don?t want to miss the Meyer sweepstake. Utah Coach Urban Meyer is the most coveted young college coach today. He seems to be locked for Fighting Irish head coach position, since he has worked there before Asst coach under Bob Davie. We have seen many coach changes in the college past few years. The college coaching culture has changed than before. If you can?t compete with the best team in the conference, your job is not secured. Last year it was Huskers Coach Frank Solich and this year it?s Ty. Frank Solich had 10-3 season before getting fired and once played for the national championship game. Since he had trouble beating Texas and Oklahoma, Huskers fired him even with his impressive winning record. Same with Ty this year. Notre Dame lost all 3 games with their bitter rival USC and lost to Michigan and Purdue. Nowadays Colleges are judging their coach performance to the best teams? coach in the conference, which I think is not fair. There are not many Superriers, Davises, Stoops and Carolls. I am sad with the demise of the Huskers football program. For Nebraskan, Huskers is the sports world. I don?t know how much Callahan knew about the Huskers football program before he took the job. 35 years of bowl appearance is a history with his west coast offense. How can you make a QB throw 55 times, when he was recruited as a OPTION QB. this callahan dude amazes me... no wonder he got fired from Oakland Raiders..... Would there have been different outcome if he had brought Husker Legend Tom Osborne for the prep talk before the final game??? Huskers needs new AD and Coach..... I watched few USC games and their offense looks pretty good. I am rooting NORM CHOW for the head coaching job. I heard he has already rejected many head coaching job offers, I hope he will take the Stanford job. It would be nice to see Asian head coach and he has pretty good record with good QBs. He has tutored QBs like Steve young, Ty Detmer, Philip Rivers and now Matt Leinart.

Brother AX.. Notre Dame didn't lose against either of the team from Michigan. THey beat Michigan (28-20) on Sept. 11 <9/11>), and beat MIchigan State (31-24) in the following week. Of course, they lost with similar scores against both Purdue and USC. And THey also dropped all of their games against these four in the year 2003 to end up with a losing season (5-7). I like Notre Dame but I am not a huge fan. For some reasons, their games are on local tv all the time, SO I get to watch them. What a sad demise of Tyrone Willingham? I had felt that he will be on the HOT Seat after couple of unsuccessfull seasons (relatively speaking). yEt, I never thought he will be fired this early. ANd he won't even be on the sidelines in the INSIGHT Bowl either (prolly against California). IF he were to get out of the Notre Dame football program I thought it will be only under his own will. Actually, I were impressed by him, when he were taking all the blames for himself. Well.... coaching job just gets tougher. COaches are always the scapegoats in any sporting programs. Every year, a team expected to do good or better ends up with a mediocre record the coaches are under the radar. I didn't like Dave Wannsdet (Doplhins coach) being sacked by Miami earlier in the season. Even after the RIcky Williams saga (he is the one to blame), and the injuries to the QBS... the COach got fired. Last season, the DOlphins had a healthy squad, and of course RIcky Williams was playing, and they had a winning record (10-6), but came off short in the WILD Card chase. THis season, THE Dolphins don't have their most productive weapons. Yes they are going to have a losing season for the first time in some 16 years, but I don't think Dave Wannstedt was the one to blame. YEt he got fired. Now, we have TYrone Willingham jobless before the end of the football season. COach Williamgham is partly accountable for the UND's miserable football seasons, but the WHole Athletic department (the HEADS) is more responsible in my opinion. I believe, their football program didn't simply put enough effort in recruiting new (better) athletes. IT has been years before UND had sent any athletes in the NFL first ROund drafts. Bob Davie got sacked after ending the 2001 season with 5-6 record despite a successful 2000 season (9-3). I can't say much about him because he had four seasons with the UND football program. He was a great coach. But the dismal season of 2001 was costly for him. However, I agree with AX and lots of other football enthusiasts when they say TYrone Willingham didn't get enough opportunity. Yes, like BOB Davie, Willingham had a great 2002 season (10-3) followed by a disappointing 2003 season (5-7), when his team failed to qualify for the BOWL game. Actually, UND suffered 2 losing seasons in 3 years (2001, 2003). 2001 wasn't under Tyrone anyways. This year, The FIghting IRish are going to the Insight Bowl (the Athletes might refuse!!), and have a winning record (6-5). BY their standards it'a sad season. Yet, 3 seasons aren't enough to judge a coach with the Talent like that of Tyrone Willingham. 2002 was successful, but to keep up with similar records, you need similar talents in the rooster as well. COach Willingham didn't have enough tools to work with. Yet, he was the one to get sacked first. I don't feel sorry for him. I know he will end up with a decent football program to prove his worth again. I haven't heard about Willingham and Washington connection yet. But, I believe that will be a good place for him to go. WIth a 1-10 record this season, the HUskies need some serious coaching change. Besides,Willingham is familiar with some of the opponents in PAC 10. Esp. USC. And, there aren't too many Great Football teams in the present in that conference. Well, except for California and USC. I am surprised by BuTch Davis's decision. He said to peter King of CNN (si) that he is staying out of active football in the year 2005. OTherwise, what would have been a better place than FOlrida for him. Since, he is out of the equation, Maybe, Tyrone Willingham can find some interest from the Gators. It's unlikely. Yet, I won't mind him seeing in Florida. Seems like Meyer is bound to Notre Dame. He is familiar with the ORganization. I believe the FIghting IRish's organization and Meyer are having discussions around this time. Meyer is definitely a HOT prospect for their program, but is he goinng to get the job done?? If not he is going to end like his precessedors. I also think, NOTre Dame organization are doing things in Haste. I am sure by the end of the year (also the end of NFL season), there will be plenty of coaches to chose from. As of Callahan and the Nebarska football. What about giving him second chance and possibly 3rd? That way the organization can get more used to his system. IT might work. What goes for Willingham should also go for Callahan. I know most of the folks in Sajha won't like this idea. But as a neutral fan, I am of the opinion Callahan should get second opporunity. GO PATRIOTS Jai Nepal

Giants at Washington ->Giants..Eli's first win.. 15 Piittsburgh at Jacksonville ->Steelers 16.Dallas at Seattle ->SeaHawks ____________________________________ And just like that the mighty Auburn Tigers had a 12-0 season; a record in school's history. First SEC title since 89'. It was pretty obvious that the voters and the BCS wanted USC-OK national championship game as they started ranked 1 and 2 and stayed that way as both remained unbeaten and no matter how many ranked team Auburn would have beaten; it would not have made any diffenrene. With that said, it is sad that Auburn who beat 4 ranked teams ..so deserved to be in Orange Bowl will be playing in Sugar Bowl. So Bring it on VT...Lolz..We will vent our frustration on Hokies .. Congrats to y'all Boomers Sooners for beating a "Mighty" Colorado ;). Good luck in the Orange Bowl. Go Auburn!! Go Falcons!!

Oh... Sorry for the AUBurn Tigers. Heard they were the best in the nation from so many people. If not the best then at least the second best.Someone even said They were going to destroy the Volunteers. And... too many things.. I can't even remember. Anyways, they are a very good team. In the absence of playoffs, they are to end the season as #3 team in the country despite not losing a single game. Now, we all know who the TOP 2 teams in the country are. People were making all sorts of noise, telling it's the COmputer rankings that had helped the Sooners cause. For once i thought that was true. But not anymore. Check for the AP and Coaches Poll through the weeks and one can see which team had held the #2 position throughout the season. We can throw the COmputer rankings out of the Polls and OKlahoma would still be the #2 team in the nation. (Or is it the VOters were all SO dumbfounded not to recognize the strengths of other teams!!) now, they say Colorado is a very weak opponent. i am surprised why none mentioned that before the final week of the NCAA football season. Oh.,. yeah excuses. Sooners were some 21 points favorite going to the game. And they were winners by 39 points coming out of the game. Thanks to a field goal by the Buffs... Sooners had surrendered 6 points in their last 3 games, lesser than any other teams in that time span, and JUST 4 points fewer than the victory margin of Aurbun over Tennessee (supposed to be a blowout game!!). Prior to those three games, Sooners were the target of all the critcisms for not beating the TWO other RANked BIG 12 SOuth opponents. And now the Bowl games are fixed and teams had been announced, I have reasons to believe that OU and USC are the two best teams in the country. And I do not believe, any of the judges made their decisions based on the final week plays alone. UCLA had USC on their heels and Tennessee did the same against Auburn. Both Auburn and USC were trying to pull out a HUGE Win, and by the end of the game, they were both desperate just to come out withwins. I do not mean to DISregard the sUccess of Auburn Tigers. They are an elite team and had impressed me by several means when they were on the field. SEC is prolly the toughest conference this season. Yet, half of the teams in that conference have very average and medicore records. Same is true about Big 12. But again, I personally think BIG 12 SOuth is toughest of all. I am happy for the LongHorns. I were expecting them to LEap-frog the California GOlden Bears. And they just did that. Oh TWO Big 12 teams in the two of the 4 prime BCS bowls. Since, the Bowl games are fixed, let's wait and see which conference fares the best in the BOWL games. OU VS USC should have been the Title game a season ago. It;s here now. SO let's enjoy. What about Heisman, People?? gO sOOners jai Nepal

Okay now, don't be feeling sorry for us because we know we are a better team and we will prove that in the Sugar Bowl. Just imagine this what-if scenario; USC and OK play a sluggish National Championship and Auburn whips VT? Can you not see another sequel for a Split-National Championship? We did not exactly beat Volunteers (#15 unlike mighty little 6's North Champ Buffs?lol) as we expected. Our defense sucked for 2 plays when we needed them most. But that is beside the point. Volunteers sure did make Tigers run for its money. It shows how lots of people including me, underestimated Tennessee's momentum plays, in which they are number one in college football. Anyways, it was pretty obvious that Auburn would not move up in the polls regardless who they beat. They started the season as ranked 17th but moved all the way up to number 3. Since the traditional media darlings USC and OK started the season as 1 and 2 and they stayed undefeated till the end of the season, why in the world Auburn would crack into top 2; which I already did predict in my earlier posts..and indeed it hold true. I think I read somewhere in this thread by a Big 12 troll about Auburn's OOC schedule with the Citadel, La Tech, and LA-Monroe. Yes, Auburn's OOC opponents were soft. Citadel was a last minute replacement to sorry ass Bowling Green who went on to schedule OK and La Tech was replacement for Ga Tech who had to play conference game because of re-alignment of ACC with the induction of Miami and Virginia Tech. With that said, I still do not believe Ga Tech and Bowling Green would have helped our cause to break into top 2. USC and Oklahoma went wire to wire in 2004 as #1 and #2 while we start out with a #17 ranking and get no movement out of #1 or #2 to jump us ahead. Whose fault is that? USC's? Oklahoma's? Nobody's? If we had been #1 or #2 all year and had held serve, then we'd be the one's getting the bus warmed up for the Orange Bowl. Under the BCS system, more deserving Auburn got shafted. We beat the Number #3, #5, #8, and #15 again. Both #8 and #15 were on the road. They talk about how we struggled against the rival Alabama, but we took care of them by the end of 3rd quarter. We did same thing with Tennessee in the SEC CG. I know for sure VT, Cal, Oregon State and UCLA almost got better of USC. Oh..how can I forgot Stanford..yes those all games were almost decided in later part of 4th quarter. Let me talk about OK... Did I hear that they also escaped in the last minutes against Cowboys and aTm. Oh.. did I hear a Boomer Sooner saying that those were rivalry games and also were the road games and also shows the character of great team like OK to overcome adversity. Yeah right? If Auburn does the same thing.. well better than that against its SEC foes then Auburn is unimpressive and do not deserve to be in top 2. When Auburn beat Georgia, Sooners and Tigers were tied in the AP and Coaches were 2 points difference in the following week's poll. When Tigers struggled against Alabama on the road, they gave more votes to Ok saying rivalry game does not matter in the polls and blah blah..yeah right ..what happened to same voters when USC mightily struggled against in its rivalry game against UCLA. I did not see USC losing any ground on that nor did OK lost any points on its close games against aTm and Cowboys. WTF, why in the world it is only Auburn who has to prove more all the time and same does not apply to USC and OK? They talk about Auburn's weak OOC Schedule but they do not want to talk about Auburn's in-conference tough opponents. So beating #3, #5, #8 and again #15 in CCG is not good enough then what is. Media bias more than the Citadel hurt Auburn. Okie bought F' ing Bowlng Green out from under us at the last minute and now that is getting used against us. We got screwed and there is no denying it. We can't change that and have to move on. However, I have already said, if we beat Va. Tech, I will never concede that the winner of the Orange Bowl is a better team. If we win it, there should be a split poll again. But I don't think the media is going to pass up their two traditional darlings playing in the Orange. Our defense had one bad quarter and they say we are average......that's BS. Since Auburn beat Tennessee in the regular season, I still think we are the best team in the land. The BCS sucks. It sucks, it stinks, and it's not fair that we don't have a shot. But these are the rules we all signed on to just like everybody else. Maybe if we win and Cal and Utah and Boise State and Texas win then the BCS ass clowns will take notice and fix it again. And again. And again. Go Auburn!! Go Falcons!! Fight on!!(yes that means USC!)

Sadly college football reg season is over. no offense to Auburn and SEC fans, teams from Pac 10 and Big 12 are the top 2 teams. I believe Auburn started the season ranked no 17(???) whereas USC and OK were no 1 and 2(???) so there is no way Auburn Tigers were going to go ahead those teams if they were to be unbeaten. I know BCS is not the perfect system but you gotta play with the hands you are dealt with. I hope to see more tweak int he BCS system so it becomes the best. I would rather have love to see Auburn playing wither Texas or Cal, which are the best teams with 1 loss.... as CW said, if Auburn needs to have any chance for title share, they have to thrash 10-2 VaTech. I am so surprised to see Ex Huskers Coach Frank Solich has not been mentioned for any vacant coaching job around the nation. He is a great coach and had a winning percentage of about .750 while with Huskers for 6 years... He is best suited for Penn State job, if Jo Pa were to retired now. It was a thriller last nite.... Vinny is giving his best?.. how about the TUNA, he is for real. it's nice to see those NFL pundits praising TUNA again. Didn't they think TUNA was making mistake for not starting Drew Hanson??? What you say now Mr. Salisbury and Cowboys great Troy Aikman. I hope last nite performance will keep Jerry ?Over Janney? Jones mouth shut. week 13 results.......
