TOURIST HOTSPOTS:Almost all listed above. ACCOMODATIONS: Well, be prepared to spend a minimum of $100/night if you do not have any friends here that you can crash in with. If you are coming alone, or with a group of young, anything-goes friends, i.e., without a family, you might want to check out the following places for boarding: American Youth Hostel (West 103rd Street and Amsterdam Avenue) McBurney (sp??) YMCA (West 23rd Street and 6th Avenue -- the hostel entrance is on West 24th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues) Both of these places offer very cheap rooms ($30-$50/night), but you might have to share bunk beds with strangers, who are mostly young European travellers. Each room may include upto 4 bunk beds, thus 8 people! Common bathrooms on each floor. PARKING: No way, Jose! If you must bring your car into the city, you might get luckier finding parking uptown (Upper East or Upper West -- which is above 60s, 70s, 80s or 90s Streets in the East, or add 100-teens in the West). The best would be to park you car in these areas and take the subway! Absolutely no parking before 7 pm in the 50s and below. Meter parkings are rediculously expensive: 25 cents per 8 minutes! FOOD: Some are listed above by others. For very cheap and nice chinese food, try NY NOODLES @ Bowery and Bayard (one block below Canal Street) streets in Chinatown. They are open until 4 am, and serve excellent authentic Chinese food (unlike Americanized Chinese fast food) for an average of $6 per entree. If you can find your way into Queens, TANGRA MASALA (mentioned by Czar) is a MUST!

In fact the whole of New York state is ridiculously " mahango ". The same brand of ciggrettes that costs 3.75 in Indiana costs 9.00 in New York state.
